ok, now i'm really puzzled. today after work, i figured i'd go and fiddle around with the timing...just to check it. i've never done "timing" before but i do have a timing light and i read my manual on how to adjust it. i also replaced the pcv valve only because there was a new one sitting in the glove compartment of the car. i did not expect the blue smoke to go away but when i started it after i adjusting the timing (it was way off), it was running real smooth. i raised the RPM's and it was still smooth. i took it out for a ride and it ran well. i drove it about 15 miles and still running strong, smooth and no smoke. any suggestions on what is going on? what other possibilities are there? any responses will be appreciated, thanks

i dont know...if you had blue smoke being burnt, that signifies burnt oil. changing the timing should not effect the oil entering your combustion chamber. :dunno:

yah that sounds really strange , no way timing could affect you burning oil..

did you notice it burning oil all the time or only until car warms up??

actually, when i first got it running, it was fine but a few days later, it started the hesitation, stalling and smoking. yesterday, after adjusting the timing, it ran real smooth. after work today, i went by my shop (where i keep my car), tried starting it and no luck. it seems like every day, it does something different. it's getting pretty agravating.

sorry, i didn't really answer your ?. when it was smoking, it smoked as soon as you turned it on...hot or cold. it would only run for a few minutes, foul the plugs and turn off.
