95 Buick Riviera - won't startrkillion76 07-05-2005, 03:46 PM I work for a school district which has an automotive class. My son's Riviera had some problems so I let the auto shop handle it. To make a long story short, I have replaced the fuel ejectors, the supercharger, the harmonic balancer, the belt tensioner, and several sensors. The car will not start. For some reason there is no spark. The autoshop is checking each wire to determine if one is broken. I just bought a computer module and hopefully will know tomorrow if this solves the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks. DrJay 07-06-2005, 07:39 PM Was the crank position sensor one of the "several sensors?" If not I would look at it. rkillion76 07-07-2005, 08:28 AM Was the crank position sensor one of the "several sensors?" If not I would look at it. Yes, the crank sensor was one of the sensors that we replaced. The school auto shop has yet to put in the new computer module, so I'm still waiting to see if this works. Thanks for the reply. If you are not getting a spark while starting, you would have a bad ignition switch, ESC module or fried PCM. Of course, they also depend on input from the CPS. :cya: pppppaul 07-24-2005, 12:53 AM I had the same problem, minus the shop class. It turns out the ignition switch (which contains the steering column wire harness) had ark deposits on the contact that tuns on the spark system. The car would crank, the injectors would fire but no spark. Once replaced, my car never ran so good. rkillion76 07-25-2005, 08:22 AM I had the same problem, minus the shop class. The shop class unfortunately is still working on the problem. The shop teacher found a broken wire in the wiring harness. I'll have him check out the ignition switch. Thanks again. Berad 03-21-2006, 08:59 AM I had the same problem, minus the shop class. Also, Did rkillion76 drive his car out of the shop class? Thanks, berad vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
