View Full Version : fan issues fan issues orestes 07-05-2005, 03:07 AM Then just the other day settings 1-3 do not do anything and it only blows air at setting 4. Then i am sitting at the drive through window waiting hella long so i decide to tryit again and see if it works. So i turn it to the off position and my idle drops like crazy and sounds like its about to die, but then when i turn it back into at least 1 the idle goes back to normal. Idle is the same at 1-4. I have experimented with turning the fan off when driving and i do not seem to lose power. Oh and the car actually doesnt die when i turn the fan to Off, it just has a hell of a time keeping itself alive. Idle somewhat stabilizes at like 400. Any ideas? Should i just take it all apart and blow it out with compressed air? Thats my normal solution for stuff around the house but I am at a loss here and i know electrical problems can be a bitch... Hit_N_Run-player 07-05-2005, 03:09 AM you idle at 400rpm? damn thats low orestes 07-05-2005, 03:53 AM no thats when i turn the fan to off and it sputters and almost dies. thats my problem, the cars behavior instantly changes when the fan gets turned to the off position. xcusememisswyn 07-05-2005, 07:19 PM mine goes nuts too when i turn the fan off, i dont knoe why but it pisses me off sometimes, i always have the fan on. let me know if u find out why orestes 07-05-2005, 10:12 PM interesting. 240SXSlideStar 07-05-2005, 11:10 PM Go get another climate control thing at the junkyard, they cant be more then like 50$, see if it fixes the problem. xcusememisswyn 07-06-2005, 12:09 AM i dont think that would throw off the whole idle and everything? not worth 50 just to see orestes 07-06-2005, 03:20 AM it doesnt seem like a problem the climate control would be able to cause but i dont know honestly. but the thing is if i buy one from the junkyard it is going to be used as well so who knows how long until it would just happen again if they seem to have these problems. JoYu 07-09-2005, 04:42 AM What I would do is unplug all the plugs from the back of the panel, and see if it still sputters, if it still does you know that your control panel is not the problem, I think the car should run without it, I know some cars wont, only one way to find out. Happy troubleshooting. orestes 07-09-2005, 01:18 PM hmm well when i get some time it sounds like the first thing to do is just disassemble it and have a look. see if its anything obvious. thanks SR20DETpower.
