So it might possibly be more reliable. But I'm sure the KA-T would be reliable also, because it is a strong engine to begin with. On a tight budget the rb prob. is out of the question. 240SXSlideStar 07-03-2005, 02:40 AM Fast and Reliable isn't Cheap. Fast and Cheap isn't Reliable. Cheap and Reliable isn't Fast. x~Underoath~x 07-03-2005, 03:55 AM Worry about that later. Get the car, then learn how to drift with the power given to you. When you get that down, then you can worry about more power. And by that time, youll have some $ saved up. That will open up options alittle more. leestewart 07-03-2005, 11:37 AM Very good point fergmonster 07-03-2005, 03:57 PM thanks for all the help guys LaYzIeNoY 07-04-2005, 01:48 AM first off i don't be surprised if this gets flamed search here some they have all the info on all the motors the prices for the sr swap and turbo ka, will run pretty close together if not the same, the rb will cost alot too much personally, as i don't need to go past 400ish hp the KA-T has more torque than the sr, and has been said to be the better drag motor of the two, the SR has a higher stock powerband and revs easier stock, and is said to be the better drift motor, but whatever you are comfortable with and use will be better for you learn to drift it first as suggested, go to some drifting forums www.drfting.com, drift411.com, i can't think of too many right now sorry look into getting a copy of the drift bible drifting will rely heavily on the suspension of your car alot more soo than power, well suspension and skill level practice makes perfect or as close as we will get, i use a empty parking lot late at night, never take it to busy streets, or housing communities [kids pop out allover the place] 240KA Turbo 07-18-2005, 07:54 PM keep the KA it puts out high reliable hp on stock internals. I has the feel of a RB plus the RB isnt practical, just gonna be putting down alot of money for a motor that doesnt fit well in the car, which will cause other problems in the long run. Stick with the KA24de from any of the 95-98, but i would strongly recommend rebuilding the motor depending on the miles. Even if i would still rebuild it, just to save yourself the hassle of having to tear down a build motor when you could have saved yourself the trouble by doing it right from the begining. Once again i would stick with the KA , rebuild then build up motor, but do it right and be patient. better to do it right, then rush and have more things go wrong with the motor b/c the proper time wasnt given to do it right. KA's are alot nastier than the SR, faster and the block is stronger. By working with what you have, you end up ahead of the pack. roughly $3500-3700 for a stock SR laying down 200hp to the wheels. RB25 is going to cost you about 9,000 which will put out about 280hp at the tires. And thats if you dont have to rebuild these motors, in most cases you will so thats another $2500-3500. KA you can spend $2500 for custom work and have 300hp at the wheels easy. imagine $3500 or $4500 these KA's are amazing. I rank the motors RB, KA, SR, and anyone that has driven a KA and a SR, will tell you the feel of the KA-turbo is unmatch, the KA is closer to an RB than a SR. I like SR's in all but i think they just dont stand up to a KA and lots of people that experienced both motors first hand will agree. Dont follow the trend of buying an SR, you just shooting yourself in the foot. 240KA Turbo 07-18-2005, 07:57 PM also, putting new and better cams on the KA will even out the powerband, making it good for drifiting. But again, the KA has a similar feel to the RB minus two cylinders. KA-Turbo baby... 240SXSlideStar 07-18-2005, 08:15 PM Well thank god you straightened him out 2 weeks after everyone agreed that this thread was over, and thank god you did the same thing in other threads to, just great! 240KA Turbo 07-18-2005, 11:10 PM also, putting new and better cams on the KA will even out the powerband, making it good for drifiting. But again, the KA has a similar feel to the RB minus two cylinders. KA-Turbo baby... And has anyone ever told you that your a loser, sorry that im not on here everyday like you and some others-i have a life. so next time you wanna be an ass, remind yourself by saying "im an ass." 240SXSlideStar 07-18-2005, 11:15 PM Yeah, I come here alot, who cares? If you can only come here like once a week, post in new threads. nissanfanatic 07-18-2005, 11:30 PM I'm on here everyday.... But then again, I don't have a life either. Having a life is for losers. Honestly, if you hang out with anyone, they are just trying to get something from you. Anyone that wants to hang out with you wants money, food, or sex. Thats it. Fuck them. I'm keeping my money, food and sex. Only one person I've known that I coudl trust with my life. He was the only person that had ever driven my car that didn't pay for something on it. I could trust him to stay in my house and not steal shit. And trust me, you only get one best friend. Anyone else, you can not trust. Well if you're lucky, you'll meet a cool/attractive girl and you will be able to trust her. But that is a one time only thing too. Anyone else is just trying to screw you over. sidewayzS13 07-19-2005, 12:10 AM for the record im on here everyday. i have a life. i am a ass and yet i still make asshole remarks. i dont trust people. nissan i disagree ill hang out w/ girls if they want my sex. and for the d bag that saiys someone thats on here daily is a loser fuck you. i have a life. it consist of alcohol your mom and varius other skanks who love to give me head oh and next time u decide to call someone a loser look at yourself and say "god damn im a faggot" then go have sex w/ your boyfriend. swigz close it. and i apologize to swigz and no one else SHIFT_KA24DE 07-19-2005, 01:20 AM another motor thread... i thought we had a sticky for this... While his reply may not have been the best, that doesn't mean you have to retort in the same manner. If you've got a problem with another member in this forum either end the argument tactfully or contact me. swigz close it. and i apologize to swigz and no one else Apology accepted, though you know what I'd tell you in this situation nonetheless:smile:.
