Van would not start the other day, when you turned the key all the lights would do like they were supposed to, but no click or anything. brother tapped on the starter with a hammer and it has been starting fine since.

I have looked under there and you cannot see where the wires hook onto the starter, and cant really see the starter itself because it is right above the front motor mount.

I have 2 questions,

1) does this sound like something that can be fixed with a solenoid kit or are the brushes most likely worn out, and

2) would the easiest way to change it be to support the motor and remove the front motor mount so I can see what I am doing.
