Is there a reason for having a bad smell coming out the air conditioner system? it really stinks.

There's a good chance the moisture is not draining out and the standing water is getting smelly. Could be molding. Check your drain.

With all the moisture that is in a A/C evap. you can get some mold growing. If the evap drain is draining water on the ground, then you can try some of the HVAC system cleaners they sell for cars. The directions tell you where to add it to clean the duct work out.

I had the same thing with my 97 GTB, put a deoderiser through it first, that sorted mine out , all you have to do is get some deoderiser spray from a car groomer, turn the fan on full, out the vents in the dash, and spray the deoderiser into the air intakes under the wiper panel. like I said, it worked for me and its been 6 months since I did it, also good if your car is a fresh import and has that lovely "Smokey aisian smell"
