What I've spent on cars would be equal to that of NASA's yearly budget.

In other words, I try not to think about it and enjoy the ride.

About $65 a week, sometimes $85. Thats for the entry fee and gas (the extra $20 comes if I have to buy back into the 2nd round).

If nothing goes wrong, then about $25 every month or so for an oil/filter change.

I'm gettin ready to buy a spare fuel pump, which will set me back aroudn $150. I got some spare spark plugs last week that were only like $16 or so.

This season, I bought new seat belts ($50), a new helmet ($200), and new slicks ($550). At the end of the season, if nothing major has happened (to the engine or trans.), then I'll be spending around $400 on the heads to get new valve springs and have all the valves checked, new valve guides, valve seats checked, and etc.

The big whammy comes when its time to get the engine freshened. That'll be $2000+. And thats if nothing breaks between now and then (next season sometime).

Total, prolly about $5k just under the hood. Spent $3k for the car.

Lately I haevn't really spent anything on it. I've been a good little boyscout and saved up for college. After I pay for getting samrter(intended), I'm gonna start buying engine internals.

I've spent more money on women(legally) and booze than I have on my car, so I think I'm doing well so far.

^^sr20 swap? if not you could have had the same power for 2k less :)

Uh, no I couldn't....

Let see. $500 alone on my exhaust
Then $2000 by the time I got my turbo kit up and running(which was making equivalent power of an SR swap from the start.

Thats $2.5k, which comes out to $500 less than what you input as "same power".

But now, lets take a look at what I have now:

400whp head room for fuel and timing. Right now. So if I go out and boost 19psi and make 400whp, af and timing are gonna be spot on. Adn for that, I paid $800.

My FMIC kit, I paid $500.

Then you have random things like gauges, my wideband, my SAFC, piping for my 3" downpipe, ect ect.

And I'm putting about 260-270whp out right now@10.5psi which is plenty for now. I'd rather keep this engine in one piece for the next 6 months until I finish my forged engine and then have my fun.

So yea, go ahead and tell me what I could do while I click the back key after this post.
