88 f150 302 valve cover gasketssoreback 06-30-2005, 03:30 PM im replacing the valve cover gaskets on my 88 f150 302 it looks like im gonna have to remove the fuel injector to get to the right side... am i gonna have any suprizes? will i have to remove everything from the top or can i just loosen it and move it aside enough to relace the gasket .... any advice will be good thanks way2old 06-30-2005, 08:16 PM I have heard it can be done without removing the plenum. I ahve never seen it done. You may need to buy the upper intake gasket along with the valve cover gaskets. It is straight forward. Just be sure the PCV hose on the underside rear of intake is hooked up. Good luck. By the way, good post on the ball joints. soreback 06-30-2005, 09:16 PM thanks way2old... i went ahead and bought the plenum gasket it was only $4 i just cant see any way to get to that right side ... when i do valve cover gaskets i like to get everything out of the way to make sure my covers go on good and the gasket is in place... but after lookin at the EGR stuff on the plenum knowing that usually is rusted and will break, i hate to move it... so ive decided to try it without moving the plenum.... but i always have the option... i got out of business in 1995 and went to work for the postal service... i am just now wanting to work on stuff again im kinda enjoying piddleing with my junk.... this fourm is good.... i still like talking about cars getting advice and maybe helping someone along the way. my thing is mostly under car espically alignment and brakes front ends and exaust... thanks way2old 07-01-2005, 09:01 AM Glad to have you.
