is the legacy considered a real race car? i do. but does anyone outside of the legacy likers really see the car as a race car? AWD and a stout engine looks pretty good to me, but does it really work for racing in say rally or touge or street racing? well peace.

Well, before the Impreza existed, Subaru used the Legacy for rally events... really don't know what else to say here, just thought I'd say that. :)

well i spose it could be considered a race car, as it has the potential with the right modifications, but i currently own a 1990 legacy turbo which is not running right. once i fix it im going to sell it because these cars are more hassel than theyre worth. in the four months iv owned it iv had to replace the gearbox, spark plugs, air flow meter, clutch, and suspect that turbo is what now needs repacing... although i love this car dearly it just doesnt cut the mustard as a 'race car'. am going to upgrade to gt4 celica as i believe it will give me less problems

Any 16 year old awd turbo car is going to give you problems, it's called mechanical wear-and-tear!

Good luck with the Celica.

As for whether the Legacy can be raced, why couldn't it be raced? As is pointed out, it was a rally winner before the Impreza was born!

that is true...but i have owned older cars than this e.g. 1988, that have given me less problems than this one

You owned older AWD turbocharged cars, or just older cars?

Turbocharged engines take a lot more strain than n/a engines, after 16 years you would expect to see some wear and tear on the engine.

well seen as how this thread is getting more attention than my own, would anyone have an idea wot is wrong with my car?
"when the engine is running it makes a rattling sound that when i listen clos sounds like its coming from one of the cylinders, also when driveing the turbo sounds like its spooling and lets off blow off valve but quieter and not boosting at all. if anyone might possibly know what the problem is input would be much appriciated.
i have a feeling that the turbo may be stuffed, but im no mechanic"
