Engine swaptopcon01 04-22-2002, 03:33 AM I was just wandering if a 1987 Homda Accord LXI L4-1955cc 2.0L SOHC FI engine will Fit and bolt up to a 1987 Honda Civic SI Manual Trans. The Civic has a L4-1488cc 1.5L SOHC(D15A3)MFI.. EightOhOne 04-22-2002, 08:45 AM i think the accord engine is an f-series engine, and wont bolt up to the d-series tranny. Also, the mounting points are different. youre better off pulling an engine from an 86-89 teg and using that ricodemus 04-22-2002, 08:48 AM or are they A series? either way, it probably won't work, like eightohone said shadowboy 04-22-2002, 10:02 AM your order of easiest to most difficult (factoring in parts availability) -86-87 integra -followed by a JDM brown-top ZC swap, or an 88-89 integra (the ZC would be easier, but the 88-89 integra engine would be easier to find parts for in the states) -black top 1st gen integra ZC (the key is it has to be an integra black top ZC, not a civic black top--the civic one is for the 88-91 civic and will not work--this engine is harder to find) -B16A -B18A/B -B18C PFCfutrell 04-22-2002, 11:55 AM i believe it's the A20, A series aren't very powerful and don't bolt up to D series trannies so i'm guessing it won't work. superaccord 04-26-2002, 05:16 PM actually the motor depends on if its fuel injected or carb. the engine codes for most carbs are A20A3, and for the fuel injected it's A20A1. Thats what i have and its a hella good motor. It has like 110hp. or so Matt superaccord 04-26-2002, 05:19 PM if you want to know more about 86-89 accords check out our forum. lots of info there.
