Anybody have a new Relay, or know anything about them. Thinking about buying one, and looking for some feedback on them.

Thanks

many people have voiced their opitions on saturnfans.com

i will warn you now they are not all favoriable. many people do not like the relay only because they don't really consider it a saturn, it doesn't have saturn's trademark dentless polymer panels, and its the first saturn that is a flat out cookie-cutter style GM rebadge shared with Buick/Pontiac/Chevy. in relialty, Saturn is becoming more of a typical GM division, not its unique entity of the past. thats what the RELAY simbolizes to many of the saturnfans community. i don't like it, but i have accepted it, most people haven't.

but besides that the facts about the RELAY -
2005 is the first year of the body style(and all rebadges of it)
2005 is the first year of the engine(in any GM division)
that alone is enough to say it is not yet road proven, you would not beleave how many changes are done in the first 2 years of any new model.
also i am told the electrical system is a little on the weak side, simular to the L-series(biggest complant is the lights dim and the alternator drags the engine under heavy load(IE - hitting the brakes with the highlights and defroster on at night)
also the sales of all 4 division have not been great, rumor has it if the sales do not improve GM will discontine the 4 vehicles in two years.

I was mainly looking at it because off all the other GM versions of it, the Saturn is the only one here with the 3.5L... The montana (not SV6 I didn't see any of those on the lots) and Venture all had the 3.4L which is known for bad intake gaskets.

The 3.5 has been available in the G6 for a little while and I haven't heard anything bad, I was just curious about the Saturn version of the minivan.

But...... Car reviews rate the Saturn higher than the Montana, and Venture. the SV6 and Uplander versions arn't on lots down here for some reason.

Didn't look at the Buick terazza as the dealers only order them "full boat", and that's too expensive for my blood.

I'll look at that site for some more info about them, you're definatley right about the sales though... I have NEVER seen a Relay driving on the road.

Saturn is becoming more of a typical GM division, not its unique entity of the past.

The 2007 Saturn Sky and the Aura concept are both unique.

why not order one with opitions you want? you don't have to buy off the lot.

also beware, i read on saturnfans.com that insuriance rates are quite high.

They arn't ordering the '05's any more, and the '06's won't have all the incentives as when they are trying to clear out the inventory. I get the GM employee discount anyway, so after this emp. promo ends and they start regular rebates again, I'll get the discount + Rebates. Not to mention, the Saturn dealer has two of what we want, just needs stuff the dealer can throw in.... Toy box, overhead storage... easy stuff.

I already called my ins. co. And my insurance will actually DROP if I get it...LOL. Taking off a 03 Taurus, and putting on a 05 Relay.... And I get cheaper rates.

I read that Saturnfans... signed up yesterday. I didn't think it to be all that bad, just one guy who seems to have bought a cursed one.

Going to test drive one today.

Thanks for the help..
