Man, I've about had it with proper applying glue. How do you guys deal with glue puking out of the tube? Or do you use glue other than the usual testor's blue tube stuff. Every time I take the damn cap off, I lose a pint of glue! Not only makes a mess, but wastes a lot of glue :uhoh:

I leave it so the top of the container is pointing upwards. This makes the glue flow toward the bottom of the tub. Also, grab the tub by the sides, not the front in back, those are the sides with the writing. This will open up the tub creating more room in it temporarily and having the glue flow downwards. Then gently tip it over and squeeze the front and back very lightly, a small drop should come out. You can then apply from the bottle or put it on a toothpick and apply. I use the testors orange glue and occasionally I'll get the giant glob of glue that doesn't want to stay in.

i use Ambroid Pro Weld or Tenax 7R, both liquid, you put on with a brush, much better and stronger then testors..

I use superglue and Testor's liquid glue exclusively. Havent used tube glue for over 20 years.

I have many types of glue, as I use them as I see fit for the job.

I have -

Revell Contacta - Brush
Revell Contacta - Needle

Tamiya - Plastic Cement Brush
Tamiya - Thin
Tamiya - CA quick type

PVA white glue
Kystal Clear
Plastic weld

Does me just fine. The tube stuff I never use.. Too hard to apply.

This is what I do,

I use a liquid (or almost liquid) glue, Revell Contacta I think, drop a couple of drops on a piece of paper, then use a big darning needle to apply the glue.

This way I can either use the needle "flat" to apply lots of glue, or use the point to apply a small amount precisely.

Works well for me, tubes are the spawn of satan.

Dan.

sometimes you dont have a choice. i always used the orange tube...the toxic stuff. but i would put a drop on something, and apply it with a toothpick, this allows better control of the glue. wal mart now sells the needlepoint testors applicators. this is what i am currently using. along with some tamiya thin type green lid glass jar?

For a really cheap and good liquid glue follow your girlfriend to the make-up store next time. Grab a bottle of nailpolish remover and...ta da! There you go, a cheap and good glue. Just use a brush to put it on.
Many of these bottles contains the same stuff as our custom made glues and works just fine.
Hold the parts togheter and apply with a brush, the capillarity will draw the liquid in to the joint and weld the parts togheter. If not satisfied, brush on some more. This can also conseal the joints so there will be little or no putty needed, just sand it smooth after completly dry.
While your in the shop, grab some of thoose hot looking nail polishes and some sanding sticks when you're on the move.

Good luck!

I agree with white97ex and danowat, I always squirt onto something then use a toothpick to apply the glue. But somehow I STILL manage to get some on my fingers and almost bond them.

The best way to waste a model is to use Testor glue in Tube !

use liquid glue. (testor is fine, but use liquid)
