there is a 1990 300ZX none turbo for sale for 3,995. it has 119,000 miles on it but it looks really nice inside and out. it seems to run smooth while driving and doesnt blow smoke out the back or smell like oil or gas. i was just wondering if anyone knew some common problems that the 300ZX might have around 119,000 miles and if they're a bit costly to maintain. thanks a lot folks.

check to see when the timing belt was done, ask how often the oil was changed, what grade of fuel was used, when the last tune up was done, if it's the original clutch... so on and so forth..

There is nothing really to note of as far as consistent problems. Rear main seal maybe if it had been driven hard and was never changed.

Check the plugs?

dont forgot the problematic valvetrain problem of the 1990's.

but if it has 120k miles on it your probably not going to need to worry about this. it usually happens at relatively low mileage 90 motors if it happens at all.

really sounds like a good deal and even if it does develope the valvetrain problem, this can be easily cured with a set of used heads from a differene, newer motor.

just make sure it is running good and it had the timing belt replaced atleast once...but it should have it replaced again in the VERY near future, reguardless.
