As we all know, :) turbochargers are a type of supercharger. A turbine drivin supercharger that somewhere lost the name supercharger.

There are 3 basic types of superchargers, roots, screw and centrifugal.

A turbocharger is a turbine drivin centrifugal supercharger.
(I know that most of yall know this, I'm just restating it to setup my question)

My question is...

Are there or have there ever been any roots or screw type turbochargers?

No.

Centrifugal compressors are the most efficient type. It doesn't make sense to go to a twin screw type.
