Upgrade brakes on 1500sledneck781 06-26-2005, 11:44 PM i want to upgrade the brakes on my 1500 z71 but im not sure which direction to head any advice. I have 22's on all summer but i switch back to my 16 inch stock wheels in the winter. any suggestions to let me use both properly but BETTER stopping. maybe GM HD brakes? what kinds and prices? thanks all airtight_python 06-27-2005, 12:39 AM I'd just go with a nice quality set of the same sized slotted rotors (~$80 each) and some quality carbon pads (~$50 a pair). Maybe get a stainless braided line kit if you'd like better pedal feel. sportin83 06-27-2005, 10:15 PM what brand of rotors are good that wont warp or crack but i cant break the bank buying them. i am in the same boat. i run 22's all summer then back do the tiny 16's for the winnter. airtight_python 06-27-2005, 11:14 PM Check out Powerslot at www.powerslot.com. Stylin' has them at about $80 each. The Hawk carbon pads are $50 a pair. Edit: I think these might be some of the better for a much lower price than others. Keep the factory size rotors if you switch back to the stock 16" wheels or still plan on using your factory spare. I think the rotors are 13". I've heard drilled rotors warp and crack easily. The slots in the Powerslot will still allow gases to escape and will do the job nicely. jethro_3 06-28-2005, 05:34 AM I understand that the ceramic disipates heat better and prevents warping. Plus you don't have to put up with all the black powder..... Just my :2cents: worth. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
