alright, yesterday i was driving my uncles 98' taurus... and i put it into park and reved it, problem was it didnt settle it just stayed reving, lol we were sitting in park in the middle of the street for about 5 minutes waiting for it to stop and it never did so i slipped it into drive and i actually got it to burn a lil rubber, a-m-a-z-i-n-g-l-y. So, my question is why cant u rev an automatic fuel injected car. My uncle said sumthing about it being fuel injected and that you cant do that with those kind of cars and im like WTF? So whats up with that?

"drive to neutral rev thenback to drive"
thats just like a Clutch kick except the Auto tranny prob will eventually kill itself doing that.

Was the throttle sticking?
How an engine recieves fuel has nothing to do with its ability to rev. The engien doesn't care how it gets fuel as long as it gets it. It meters how much air enters the engine and adds the appropriate amount of fuel. Pretty simple....

yeah the throttle is like a mechanical unit it cant be like misfiring it would have to just be straight up stuck open. lol that happened to my friend on his race-tuned stand up jetski but luckily!! it came up on shore semi-close by.

this should be happening in the car, wether it be EFI or not...was the throttle sticking in any way?
