Hi have a 89 Legacy Stationwagon and over time when I go to start the car it does nothing, the lights and everything comes on. I turn the key a couple of times and then it will just start. I have replaced the alternator and it made no difference. The clock and heater resets itself after everytime I turn the car off. I replaced the battery and the problem went away for about a month the slowly it seems to happen more and more often until I now have to jump start it!! Any Ideas? thanks.

Hi you need a new starter relay. they are hard to find, because the location is never the same on any subaru. you may need to install a toggle switch instead. Between the hot side of the starter to the small wire on the starter. Hope this helps.
