I was wondering if there is any engines out there that would swap right in a 91 Rodeo. Currently it has the 3.1 in it and I am looking to upgrade to perhaps some more horses. If anyone could tell me if there are any engines that could be swapped it would be appreciated.

You can put in a 3.4, but there is some work that needs to be done to the starter.

if you do a google search for trooper 3.4 you should find some info.

I know of 5-10 guys that have swaped their 2.8 (Trooper) for the 3.4 (3.1 is just a bored out 2.8 and the the 3.4 is a bored out 2.8 or 3.1 however you want to look at it).

just out of curiousity would the 3.4l bolt into where a 3.2l was?. i figure that the computer and electrical system would have to be changed but what about the mounts and the tranny?
