Gonthrax 04-20-2002, 07:27 PM I've filed one. I'll have to dig around to find the number. Why do you ask? Jay! 04-20-2002, 07:31 PM This relates to Skylines how? Gonthrax 04-20-2002, 09:40 PM Originally posted by jay@af This relates to Skylines how? I wondered too. Sounds like another excuse for MotoRex to jack up prices to me. :smoker2: SkylineUSA 04-21-2002, 10:03 AM Gonthrax, You have a patent? What did you patent? How much did it cost you? Who did you have to go through? Gonthrax 04-21-2002, 01:48 PM Originally posted by SkylineUSA Gonthrax, You have a patent? What did you patent? How much did it cost you? Who did you have to go through? I patented a ratcheting string winder for a guitar. I seem to remember after filing all the papers, all told it cost me around $150 or so. I went called our state capital and asked what to do, they directed me to the US Patent office. I sent them a self addressed, stamped envelope and they sent me all the forms. I just sent in the forms, a blueprint of my winder and some info on it. A few months later I got some paper work back from them, I signed a few things, sent it back and that was it. SkylineUSA 04-21-2002, 02:59 PM Hey Gonthrax, What is your patent number? I would like to look it up, and read how you wrote it. Thanks And what does Gonthrax mean? SkylineUSA 04-21-2002, 04:46 PM Jay, If you want to move this post I understand. Sorry about posting on the skyline page. I was not thinking, as usual:) Jay! 04-21-2002, 04:53 PM Originally posted by SkylineUSA Jay, If you want to move this post I understand. Sorry about posting on the skyline page. I was not thinking, as usual:) Fair enough... Moving to Completely Off-Topic. But, if you do manage to patent a Skyline, let us know how... (;)) SkylineUSA 04-21-2002, 08:19 PM Jay, Just to let you know, you can not patent something that has already been designed. What Gonthrax said about his patent is strange. It goes a lot deeper than just filling out some forms, and paying $150. I was told that just to get a design patent it would be $350. A design patent really does not do anything for you. I am very curious as to what is writen on Gonthrax's patent. CraigFL 04-22-2002, 10:15 AM I have two but they were done by company lawyers at over $5K each --- with all the legalese, drawings, worldwide filings and rebuttals. SkylineUSA 04-22-2002, 10:40 AM You got a bargain at 5k. Gonthrax 04-22-2002, 12:03 PM Originally posted by SkylineUSA Hey Gonthrax, What is your patent number? I donno what Gonthrax means, I came up with it a long time ago when I first started playing Online games and I've just stuck with it ever sence :D Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
