Schister66 06-23-2005, 08:23 AM I've heard that the OEM GSR head gasket is pretty good for boost since it is metal. IDK if that's true or not. Greenblurr93 06-23-2005, 08:53 AM cometic head gaskets are the best ive used.. and ive used many.... kugstrand18 06-23-2005, 11:22 AM k so i got that now but what size there are so many sizes and i dont know exactly what size my current broken one is and by size i am talking about the mm size? kugstrand18 06-23-2005, 11:28 AM http://www.highperformanceonline.com/scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=167 like which one of these sizes? Greenblurr93 06-23-2005, 11:42 AM if you havent bored it out, it should be 81mm kugstrand18 06-23-2005, 11:43 AM the block is bored to a 2.0 Greenblurr93 06-23-2005, 11:49 AM most likely an 84mm bore then. kugstrand18 06-23-2005, 11:52 AM http://www.tornactive.com/pd_hks.cfm what about these? would these work being 82.5? Greenblurr93 06-23-2005, 12:03 PM no if its an 84mm bore you need to get the 84 mm headgasket, nothing else.. Greenblurr93 06-23-2005, 12:04 PM kugstrand18 06-23-2005, 12:12 PM hey man thanks for the help its really makes things easer. kugstrand18 06-23-2005, 12:39 PM k one last thing. i am going to change this shit out but i need to know what are the torque levels for a ls/vtec with b16 head Greenblurr93 06-23-2005, 12:42 PM umm depends.... the torque specs change if you are going to use OEM head bolts vs. ARP head studs. kugstrand18 06-23-2005, 01:10 PM i have the ARP head studs turboEKhatch 06-23-2005, 01:16 PM i have the ARP head studs If you had ARP's they come with a sheet with torque specs  Of course, if you somehow didn't get this sheet you could have used some initiative and searched for "arp torque specs" on google, clicked on the first result, and got whatever you need. That's quite hard though, isn't it. kugstrand18 06-23-2005, 01:23 PM kinda and also i bought the car with the studs so i didnt get the sheets and i have been searchin for a long time to get the right torque specs. lkailburn 06-24-2005, 08:58 AM go to www.honda-tech.com and search for arp head stud torque and you'll find what your looking for. when i put em in my D i double checked my specs to those i found on the site. i think yours is going to be somewhere around 70~75ft/lbs,( in 3 stages of course) but don't quote me on that. Greenblurr93 06-24-2005, 09:07 AM ok, i have the studs, the sheet from ARP said NOT to torque them down the the factory spec, but only to 60 ft/lbs. lkailburn 06-24-2005, 12:59 PM hm 60 seems a tad low. but not too bad i guess. on my D i torque'd them to 65 in 4 stages. i thought b's were a lil higher but if thats what arp says do that. BE SURE to do it in the correct inside-out pattern and in 3 stages. also not really needed but i retorqued them a week later but they were still at 65 like the should be. Greenblurr93 06-24-2005, 01:55 PM ya, the ARP dont really need to be re torqued, but i did anyway, i think a couple ony loosend like 1 ft/lb... and it has something to do with the design of the stud that ARP doesnt recommend over torquing... in fact, when you install the stugs into the block, youre only supposed to hand tighten them, then torque the nuts... lkailburn 06-26-2005, 01:37 AM yah i wasn't talking about torqing the stud itself just the nut. so which gasket are you going with? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
