I have a 2005 GTI 1.8T with the windows down I used to hear the whistle of the turbo yesterday it started making a WhooOOSHHHH
I only have 2000 miles on it and its my first car with a turbo just wondering if it is supposed to make that whoooshhh noise before it was a whistle. its going back to the dealer on friday to get the other key and phatnoise put in it. I would like to know so I can tell them to check it without looking like a fool. :)

I have a 2002 GTI and it makes a Woooosh noise because of the cold-air intake.

One of the turbo pipes might have come off.. You can have them check it for you free of charge.. its warranty.

THe pipe at the intercooler by the right front wheel is the most prone to coming off and makine that noise.

it was a vacuum hose for the diverter valve. thanx for the info on the intercooler pipe.
