VW Samba Bus w. 12 cyl. enginesportracer02 06-22-2005, 03:17 PM Hi, before I got a digi cam I started a project I saw on a scetch in Scale Auto Enthusiast: a VW Bus -23 window- with the rear and sides of a Ferrari Testarossa. The engine comes from a Fujimi Koenig Testarossa. This is what I did some years ago: http://www.arcor.de/palb/alben/28/1077928/3238313563666264.jpg http://www.arcor.de/palb/alben/28/1077928/6430353265333035.jpg When I saw the flyer of the 7. Frankfurter Model Car Show in October, I decided to finish the model for this event ( http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=415350 ) Today I put on the second colour http://www.arcor.de/palb/alben/28/1077928/6230333361636538.jpg Next is working on the interior with Ferrari dashboard, seats, ... Ran 06-22-2005, 03:44 PM Ferrari, VW bus? Crazy combination! Looks great, I would suggest on painting one of the tones in red, since half of it is a Ferrari after all. :) fwdfreak 06-22-2005, 03:52 PM INSANE :evillol: cool oldschool color combo aswell :sunglasse Whumbachumba 06-22-2005, 03:54 PM You should have made it a sleeper. Very nice job though, the sides and back look like they were always there. slk320 06-22-2005, 04:03 PM very nice and innovative concept. The paint choice is very nice and very authentic. blubaja 06-22-2005, 04:16 PM Something..something..Axis powers or WWII collaberation. Looks great! What is that green? Keep up the awsome work! Frank X. cj_baller13 06-22-2005, 04:22 PM i think this is my favourite bus ever already lol nice one bud cant wait to see more dyowelb 06-22-2005, 04:25 PM wow...niceeeee.. zanthrax 06-22-2005, 04:51 PM Impressive bodywork! JTRACING 06-22-2005, 05:26 PM hey Micha, This looking Awesome!!!!, cant wait ot see more...!!!! gui20 06-22-2005, 07:50 PM Nice "Kombi" man!! This is how the VW Samba Bus is called in Brazil, where I came from. I never thought that a Samba Bus with the back side of a Testarossa could be so fantastic!! If someone told me I wont believe! But I also think that white and red will be much better, cause red has much more to do with ferraris than with green, right? Anyway, that car is great!! congratulations! sorry about my weak english... alakai 06-22-2005, 08:23 PM Very nice umm... "Samba-rossa"? I like it! Awesome work at blending the concept together. white97ex 06-22-2005, 08:28 PM the paint is awesome. as is the body work willimo 06-22-2005, 11:22 PM Cool! sportracer02 06-23-2005, 12:57 AM Something..something..Axis powers or WWII collaberation. Looks great! What is that green? Keep up the awsome work! Frank X. Hi Frank, I used Testors white and added dpops of Testors green until I came to the colour you see now tonioseven 06-23-2005, 11:27 AM Damn, now that's c :sunglasse :sunglasse l! klutz_100 06-23-2005, 01:12 PM I never thought that a Samba Bus with the back side of a Testarossa could be so fantastic!! If someone told me I wont believe! :iagree: :bigthumb: now that's huge! as a minority voice - i think you should stay away from the obvious red theme and let the body mods do the talking :) one q though, you got a VW badge on the front and a pony on the back - is it gonna stay with the "pull-me push-me" badging? robrex 06-23-2005, 05:47 PM WOW !!! I love it! I used to own a '63 'Kombi' and always had the idea of a porsche or subaru engine, but a Ferrari? Great idea and work so far! druid_99 06-23-2005, 10:07 PM I was about to do the same thing too! I have been planning it for a few years now (too busy with other stuffs and no time to build :frown: ). Even have the same 23 window VW Samba Bus (It's Hasegawa right?) I was going to use a Tamiya Testarossa engine though. Seems like I have to put another engine then... suprastar 06-24-2005, 01:42 PM Looks very cool, some would call it sacrillage. What wheels are you going to use? Good look with the side slats! sportracer02 06-25-2005, 01:46 AM Looks very cool, some would call it sacrillage. What wheels are you going to use? Good look with the side slats! Hi, I have a set of Fujimi 5-spoke 17" wheels. The rear ones will be very wide for the tremendous power. I intended to take 18 or 19 ", but then the Bus is too high and I want to have it very low. subyfanatic 06-25-2005, 02:28 PM :eek7: :eek2: DrYzOne 06-27-2005, 12:31 AM Intriguing concept. After sanding the veneer I covered it with clear. blubaja 07-03-2005, 04:42 PM Where did you get those wood strips from? Lookin great! Keep up the awsome progress. Frank X. sportracer02 07-04-2005, 01:12 AM Where did you get those wood strips from? Lookin great! Keep up the awsome progress. Frank X. Hi Frank, veneer is very thin wood used to cover furnitures to make them look as if they are made of real wood through and through. I got some from a friend who builds ship models. I used a ruler and a sharp knife to make those stripes. klutz_100 07-04-2005, 04:21 AM Another great idea to what was already a great idea! :) Hope you build this quick 'cos I don't want to wait too long for next update! :) j/k sportracer02 07-04-2005, 06:45 AM Another great idea to what was already a great idea! :) Hope you build this quick 'cos I don't want to wait too long for next update! :) j/k Hi, I will give my best, but ------- It is summer :ylsuper:, sports :jump3:, the Peugeot 206 "Rossi" :D , another mastermodel ;), tons of ideas ...... Samurai75007 07-04-2005, 08:59 AM Looking good, more updates!!! sportracer02 07-08-2005, 09:06 AM OK, little update: Body is covered with clear but not polished yet.
