In Progress - Lamborghini GallardoCADguy 06-22-2005, 08:16 AM I started this car last weekend. I don't have a lot of progress to show, but the body has been prepped, primed, and painted. I used Cobra Colors - Lambo Thirty paint on this car. It's a very metallic purple. This has not been cleared or polished yet. I may use the clear engine cover on this car. It will depend on how the curbside engine bay looks after some detailing. Those may not be the wheels I use. I just mocked up the car with them to see what some modern 19's would look like under this car. http://images10.fotki.com/v192/photos/4/431166/2014790/Gallardo_03-vi.jpg http://images10.fotki.com/v191/photos/4/431166/2014790/Gallardo_04-vi.jpg http://images10.fotki.com/v193/photos/4/431166/2014790/Gallardo_05-vi.jpg http://images10.fotki.com/v193/photos/4/431166/2014790/Gallardo_06-vi.jpg ZoomZoomMX-5 06-22-2005, 08:54 AM That vintage color should look pretty good on it. My vote would be to make the engine insert as detailed as possible and use the clear hood. The rims look awesome-but I'm prejudiced since they're the ones on mine :icon16: . klutz_100 06-22-2005, 10:10 AM That vintage color should look pretty good on it. ..... The rims look awesome..... . :iagree: the combination looks very nice to me - i'm acually drooling a little bit :) I'm sure this is going to be a really nice build and look forward to seeing it develop PS I'm envious of you guys in the US that can get access to Cobra Colours :banghead: I'd love to try these but I guess there's no way for them to be shipped to EU fieldmarshal 06-22-2005, 10:55 AM That looks sweet. the color suites it well. Lambophilia 06-22-2005, 11:22 AM Love the color! MPWR 06-22-2005, 12:48 PM Wow, that's alot darker than I expected Lambo Thirty would come out. Maybe because of indoor lighting. Just looking at CC's offerings (http://cobracolors.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CC&Category_Code=LAM) makes me want to build a Lambo, though! (May have to do a Diablo in Viola Ophelia....:sunglasse ) Looking forward to seeing it come along! tonioseven 06-22-2005, 01:37 PM Another masterpiece on the way!!:sunglasse Cobra Colors 06-22-2005, 02:21 PM I'm a big fan of that Diablo color. It should look right at home on the Gallardo too. I like the way it's shaping up! SupaMan89T 06-22-2005, 02:22 PM pimptastic purple! im lovin it! americanmuscleman 06-22-2005, 07:04 PM very nice color. me and my bro were driving in his camaro last night and we pulled up next to an orange one and i almost peed myself! we recorded the video on his cell, then we both took off and he laughed at us in 2nd gear, but man did that car sound good. i wanna build one but cant find one in america. keep up the good work 360spider 06-22-2005, 11:06 PM Great start! CADguy 06-23-2005, 04:40 PM Thanks guys! :) I cleared this car last night. The color and metallics will look awesome after polishing. The clear coat came out a bit orange peely, but will easily polish out. I ordered 3 new sets of 19" wheels, and will most likely go with some Kranze LXZ's on this build. Koenigferrari 06-23-2005, 10:23 PM Nice start! I love the colour. subyfanatic 06-25-2005, 02:35 PM Super Sexy!!! willimo 06-25-2005, 06:13 PM I saw a Gallardo in, of all places, Lafayette Louisiana just this past Tuesday. Made me want to build a model of it. Then I see it here on AF, made by you, and I think, "Best to leave that up to the pros." Samurai75007 06-25-2005, 10:39 PM This one's going to look sweet... evo8owner 06-26-2005, 02:30 AM Purple Lambo..........Perfection! Alfa 147 06-26-2005, 03:36 PM Looking forward to see it cleared and polished :sunglasse EMAXX 06-28-2005, 12:16 PM Looks great so far. I really like the color you chose for the body. CADguy 06-28-2005, 07:29 PM Here it is in clear, but not polished, out in the sun. http://images10.fotki.com/v197/photos/4/431166/2014790/Gallardo_07-vi.jpg chaos 06-29-2005, 12:28 AM Looking forward to seeing how this turns out! RallyRaider 06-30-2005, 05:18 AM Looking forward to seeing this one finished. I think we could do with a Lamborghini forum for all the awesome Lamborghini models popping up around here. :) Koenigferrari 06-30-2005, 12:11 PM I love the colour on this one! Can't wait to see more progress pics! CADguy 07-14-2005, 07:41 PM I've finished up painting most of the parts. The interior is all ready for assembly. http://images10.fotki.com/v200/photos/4/431166/2014790/Gallardo_08-vi.jpg The engine bay is also painted. I used a textured black paint for the airbox's, and used BMF for some hose clamps. http://images10.fotki.com/v201/photos/4/431166/2014790/Gallardo_09-vi.jpg These are the wheels I'll be using. I cut the front trim rings down for a better offset look. http://images10.fotki.com/v201/photos/4/431166/2014790/Gallardo_10-vi.jpg I'm pretty happy with how the engine bay turned out so I'll go ahead and use the clear engine cover. http://images10.fotki.com/v200/photos/4/431166/2014790/Gallardo_11-vi.jpg freakmech 07-14-2005, 07:45 PM looking really great so far maybe i should post some prog of mine? keep it up! i havent started on the engine bay yet. Veyron 07-14-2005, 07:48 PM It's rockin'! TireGaint 07-15-2005, 01:11 AM It is awesome, I will buy four version of this gallardo. SchuberT 07-15-2005, 04:06 AM Wow those LXZ's fit perfectly! mach1_2003 07-15-2005, 09:49 AM Awesome job Matt. Perfect wheels for that car and that color. g00eY 07-15-2005, 11:39 AM looks great. sideshowscrappy 07-15-2005, 01:04 PM damn man thats nice!!!! Who makes those rims Cad???.......................*Ryan* ImolaEK 07-15-2005, 02:18 PM Looks fantastic;) That purple is fiya! CADguy 07-15-2005, 02:30 PM damn man thats nice!!!! Who makes those rims Cad???.......................*Ryan* They are Aoshima 19" Kranze LXZ's. I had to do a lot of modifications to get them to fit. The front A-arms needed work to shorten them, and I had to use aftermarket resin disk brakes on the rear. The combination of super wide kit brakes and deep dish wheels made the rear wheels stick out 2-3mm on each side. Stickz 07-16-2005, 12:42 AM Nice, LXZs look nice on there! Hiroboy 07-16-2005, 02:22 AM Nice colour you have picked, it's looking mighty fine Matt :bigthumb: bigfrit 07-16-2005, 07:00 PM Great stuff! I like the interior blue bits, how did you get that effect on them? sprayed from a distance? As for the engine, you're going the extra mile, and it shows. Keep this purple sunshine coming! Olivier godfather23 07-17-2005, 04:47 PM Nice progress on the Lambo, CADGuy. As I review all the late Lambos on the board, Fujimi shouldnīt fancy putting wheels into the kits, as nobody is using them. Great wheel choice. Thatīs just style. I also like the color choice. Thereīs nothing better than a Lambo to try cool and different paint jobs! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
