I have wanting this kit for more then 10 years and i final got one ! I traded an old built up for this that i was asking 100.00 for he gave me this Land rover and 80.00 cash I was floored cause the cheapest i seen this kit was 60.00 on the ebay and the Hobby haven message board ! I tried to buy it about a year ago from the same guy and he said he wanted to keep it , but he wanted i built kit of a 1970 torino drag car i did and he was the one that said i will give you that land rover and 80.00 and man i WAS RUNNING WILD LOL!

now i cant use the stock drive train so i will make all my own leaf spring and rear ends , i am going to use the nascar truck quick change system and built my own drive shafts !

well i just started this last night at about 9:30 pm and i was up til 5:00am and this is how it looks right now ! with the new left and wheels and tires and an over all mock up at this point but youll see where i am headed LOL!

the only thing that i am pondering at this point is the tire that mounts on the hood , i dont like it dut the hood is very flat and then it drops down for the tire

y'know, the way leaf-springs are made, you could actually make an actual working leaf-spring suspension for it.....

I built this kit many years ago. Not a bad kit for its age. I saw it on ebay recently and considered it. I like where you are going with this. Any thoughts on color?

Zebra stripes would be fitting. Any kind of animal print or camo scheme..In funky colours of course.

I did a ford bronco a while back that is zebra strip that made it in the lastest model cars contest issue maybe your thinking of it !

I've just got this kit here in Israel from a guy who builds planes and his dad used to build cars...anyway he sold his dad's old stock and i got 4 "dust smelly" kits from him:
Monogram 635Csi, MPC Ferrari 512BB, Revell Bugatti R.V. 1931 and the Land Rover.. i've never seen one but i didnt know its that rare. now i'm waiting for my skills to improve to touch it ;)

I also think the Zebra stripes would be a killer and in my opinion the hood makes it look too bulky.
gonna watch this progress up close!
