Oh by the way this kit was mint ! Here are few pics as i start this project http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0002.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0003.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0010.jpg here is a quick mock up of the stock version http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0017.jpg and here is a mock up of where i want to take it LOL! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0018.jpg now i cant use the stock drive train so i will make all my own leaf spring and rear ends , i am going to use the nascar truck quick change system and built my own drive shafts ! heres a look of the undetailed new leaf system http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0026.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0024.jpg well i just started this last night at about 9:30 pm and i was up til 5:00am and this is how it looks right now ! with the new left and wheels and tires and an over all mock up at this point but youll see where i am headed LOL! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0052.jpg the only thing that i am pondering at this point is the tire that mounts on the hood , i dont like it dut the hood is very flat and then it drops down for the tire http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0050.jpg would this hood scoop look bad ? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0041.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/DCP_0040.jpg Hope you all like and comments are welcomed! It looks better then that scoop. Good luck on this. Iknow it's gonna look hot after you're done with it. Frank X. drunken monkey 06-19-2005, 05:00 PM y'know, the way leaf-springs are made, you could actually make an actual working leaf-spring suspension for it..... PRIVATEER 06-19-2005, 05:31 PM I built this kit many years ago. Not a bad kit for its age. I saw it on ebay recently and considered it. I like where you are going with this. Any thoughts on color? minidreams_n_scale 06-19-2005, 05:53 PM i was thinking a neat 2 tone or may be zebra stripped! LOL! blubaja 06-19-2005, 06:58 PM Zebra stripes would be fitting. Any kind of animal print or camo scheme..In funky colours of course. Frank X. SteveK2003 06-19-2005, 08:55 PM Watch, now it gets re-released by R-M this fall. I've just got this kit here in Israel from a guy who builds planes and his dad used to build cars...anyway he sold his dad's old stock and i got 4 "dust smelly" kits from him: Monogram 635Csi, MPC Ferrari 512BB, Revell Bugatti R.V. 1931 and the Land Rover.. i've never seen one but i didnt know its that rare. now i'm waiting for my skills to improve to touch it ;) I also think the Zebra stripes would be a killer and in my opinion the hood makes it look too bulky. gonna watch this progress up close! RoY minidreams_n_scale 07-30-2005, 09:11 AM not much work on this one yet LOL! just added hood vents ,and go the chassie in black and ready to detail , still lots to be done just wanted to let you all know i am still working on this 1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/c0af0ee2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/e7411460.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/2f0e9b9f.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/22bde69b.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/Davidminidreams/land%20rover/2c1758f5.jpg well back to work i will post more soon Later David@Minidreams Inc. sideshowscrappy 07-30-2005, 04:00 PM This is looking awesome dave.
