Chop a Merc -progressblubaja 06-18-2005, 03:21 PM Hey, Old amt kit I found in the closet. was planned to be a 4dr. Maybe still. Chopped rediculously. Still needs more in the back tho. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/blubaja03/chopmerc4.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/blubaja03/chopmerc.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/blubaja03/chopmerc2.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/blubaja03/chopmerc3.jpg Thanks, Frank X. SidewayzS15 06-18-2005, 03:32 PM awsome! now all you need to do is section it :D AstroRide44 06-18-2005, 03:36 PM i think that might be to extreme, there would be no head room at all. blubaja 06-18-2005, 03:51 PM I think they can fit. It wouldn't be comfortable, but that's the sacrifices of hotrodding. lol.. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/blubaja03/chopmerc5.bmp sportracer02 06-18-2005, 04:34 PM Hi Frank, just lower the seat and it works... :-)) AstroRide44 06-18-2005, 05:09 PM i think that might be to extreme, there would be no head room at all. ok, that pretty funny. lol freakmech 06-18-2005, 05:45 PM haha, screw the back seat all together and make this a 2 seater. chop city! cut out about 3/4 of an inch just behind front door and hell this thing might start looking like a euro make. fun project and dont be afraid to take liberties with it! blubaja 06-18-2005, 06:37 PM Fixed the top a little. I want to add the B pillars. Needed to make a new trunk. The kit one doesn't want to fit. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/blubaja03/chopmerc6.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/blubaja03/chopmerc7.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/blubaja03/chopmerc8.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a35/blubaja03/chopmerc9.jpg Frank X. Tommycool666 06-19-2005, 12:26 AM if you plan on keeping the 4 door idea i strongly suggest you reputty the rear door lines and look at a reference picture becuase a 4 door merc didnt have space between the front and rear doors , and the rear door never went over the rear wheel well like that. Overall its a good project i like it i will definatley be keeping a close watch on this one. This is mine i built this one a year ago. Goodluck with yours there should look really nice when finished. what were u thinking of doing for a rear window? http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/188362DSCN0110-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/188362merc_custom-med.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/188362merc_front_6-med.JPG GTmike400 06-19-2005, 12:56 AM I've actually seen a bel air with a chop that extreme. The guys seats were on the floor. It was bitchin though, and so is your Merc! Stickz 06-19-2005, 01:00 AM Thats nice, I wanna do a Merc or Bel Air thats chopped and sectioned. With a faded paint job. blubaja 06-19-2005, 01:30 AM Nah..I'm not keepin it 4dr anymore. I tried doin it when I first got the kit, when I alot younger. I didn't mean for the space to be there. It was just 2 diff door jams I was trying. There's not going to be much of a rear window..Like how there's barely any for the front either. But I'll have to see after I rebuild the assend. I like how you did your trunk, but I was having trouble with mine fitting. It just didn't sit right anymore. There was too huge a gap on either side. Thanks, Frank X. BlownSS454 06-19-2005, 10:53 PM This is sweet! :) Nice chop on it too! I think you should channel it, give the "driver" and "passengers" more room.. lol PRIVATEER 06-19-2005, 11:23 PM Mercs............ya gotta luv'em!!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
