Just wondering what u guys would consider a better deal. The new GTO has 400 hp and would spank the Z. Although since i don't have the money to buy a brand new GTO. i would have to get the 350 hp LS1. Just wondering which u guys think is better. I think the 0-60 and 1/4 times are roughly the same for the 2003/2004s. Im sure the Z gets better mileage to.

It all depends on the person and what kind of driving style that person has. =/

GTO: About the same as the Z as far as 0-60 and 1/4 mile times go, mid 5s and high 13s, respectively.
Has a (little) worse skidpad, .88g vs .89g.
Gets about the same mileage as the Z...somehow...(???)
Costs (way) more, ~$32Gs+ vs ~$27G+.
Less aerodynamic, .31 cD vs .29 cD.
Heavier, over 3700 lbs vs a tick over 3200 lbs.
Has worse 60-0 braking distances, 132 ft. vs 115 ft.
I think the GTO is very boring looking, too...but that's just my :2cents:

ricerblows, go and test drive it. and tell us which one you think is better and why. =) Just go to the dealer and say your interested in the GTO and test drive it, do the same with the Nissan dealer. Just after you test drive it say that it wasn't exactly what you were looking for and get out. ^^ I did that so I can test drive the Mercedes Benz SL500 and the CLK. O wow...I wish I had the money T.T

I've done that. It's a great way to get to drive different things and you're not even completely lying. I recently did this with a Neon SRT-4 with a Mopar Stage-2 upgrade. Thing was a BLAST to drive, but it honestly wasn't something I'd buy...big wing in the rear view mirror, annoying exhaust note (had a Borla exhaust as a part of the upgrade kit), was a nearly 30,000 dollar SRT-4, torque-steered out the ASS...it was fun but I don't think I'd really like to drive it every day...

lol...I know. It's tough no matter what sometimes...just depends on the dealer you get. The dude I talked to with that SRT-4 was cool...he didn't even want to ride with...that surprised me. He just said "just don't romp on it too hard"...I'm like..."yea...ok" laughing my ass off in my head...

Get The Nissan!!!!!!!!!
No shit, man...but I'm biased. I'm currently looking for my 4TH Z car...either that or a S14 240SX. I take ALL cars into consideration, but nothing has really equaled the value of the 2 previously mentioned. You can pick up a Z31 (84-89) for ~3000 in good shape and make it run in the mid/low 5 second range to 60 for less than 700 bucks...less if you'd like. You can get a Z32 (90-96...the ones with twin turbos) turbo for only around 10,000 bucks in good shape! THESE will run to 60 in only ~5.5 seconds (seen them run 5.2 to 5.7) FROM THE FACTORY! With mods? HA...bring it...
BUT...the fastest Z cars I've ever seen are, ironically enough, the OLDER ones...go figure. I've seen multiple cars from the 80s run the 1/4 mile in the 9s, popping big old wheelies and all...WITH FULL FACTORY INTERIORS!!!
Hard to beat Nissan for the money...

I recently raced a GTO single turbo with my stock 350, and felt like I was riding a bike. I know that the race was unfair, but for power, there is no comparisson between the too, I love my 350, but for power, go GTO
