I have just purchased a alpine v12 mono amp model: MRD-M605 with a 12" alpine type R sub model: SWR-1242D, and i was wondering what gauge wiring i should get, i have read around and i have heard 4 gauge but i have no idea...and i was wondering where is the cheapest place to buy them. if the 4 gauge is what i need, i looked at overstock.com ( http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?page=proframe&prod_id=1182498# ) and found that one, and was just curious if anyone has ever ordered anything from them. thanks for your help.

its going in a 96 civc ex, with a alpine CDA-9827 cd player...

seriosuly it would be like 28 shipped off of ebay and it would be the same brand to if oy ufound it. as for the amp if its mono it should take 4 guage or bigger jsut becuase of the power demand.

Go to www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp to find the correct size cable. It doesnt hurt to go bigger just incase you want to upgrade to a more powerful system. If you only want cable i got mine from a local welding supply company. I bought 20' of 2 gauge for $21. Welding cable is awesome because it has a very rubbery shell that's easy to flex and it can take like 200 Amps or more. You can check out my install at www.cardomain.com/id/turbolaxx
