Are there any stock production cars with supercharger which do not require premium gas? (was looking at the Monte Carlo SS until I learned it will only take premium).
Thanks

there isn't much of a difference in price anyway.....my car isn't supercharged and i still have to run premium (99 GS-R).

I would think that most super/turbocharged cars would run on premium gas....but there might be exceptions.

You can get away with running Mid-grade in that Monte Carlo. It has a knock sensor that will pull out enough timing to keep you running good, you'll just lose a little power.

Cobalt SS S/C can run regular, but timing is gonna be retarded so much it wouldnt be worth it.

I think that for the extra 10c per gallon that it's worth it. It is probably going to kill performance and end up hurting the car if you run regular gas. If you don't want to pay for premium, don't buy the car that can ONLY run on premium.

not sure where you live, but here regular is 2.20 a gallon and premium is like 2.50

I live in ND and for regular it's 1.99-2.12 (depending on the day) and premium is anywhere from 2.12-2.19 and that's before the gas station discounts which are like 3 to 5 cents off per gallon. So it's not too bad.

You MUST ALWAYS use premium fuel in a supercharged car.

A S/C car can lower grade fuel if you install lower temp plugs
