Progress: Eclipse GS-TFeint Motion 06-14-2005, 05:20 PM This is a revell kit I just had to get. Im going to do it my way. Some of the parts that came with the kit is just a NO, No :disappoin Anyways, Ive done little so far. Just Detailed the front end, Custom built Intercooler and what not. The color of the car will be Brook Blue Metallic. Only one picture right now, More will come. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v669/FeintMotion/HPIM1713.jpg bhop73 06-14-2005, 05:59 PM Looks cool. As you may know, I have a WIP thread on the car here too so I know what you mean about the kit parts. Some are just no good... It looks like yours is going to be a quality piece judging by the scratch intercooler's quality. FYI the model is a GSX. There were no GT-S in this model of Eclipse. The GT-S name didn't come until the 3rd generation in 2000. INsejn 06-14-2005, 06:23 PM ...FYI the model is a GSX. There were no GT-S in this model of Eclipse. The GT-S name didn't come until the 3rd generation in 2000. How do you know it is GSX (AWD) not GST(FWD)? There was no exterior difference between them, besides rear high spoiler. Also you can find GST with rear high spoiler just straight from factory. bhop73 06-14-2005, 06:42 PM How do you know it is GSX (AWD) not GST(FWD)? There was no exterior difference between them, besides rear high spoiler. Also you can find GST with rear high spoiler just straight from factory. You're right, there were no exterior differences. They both had the same spoiler too. Well, there was the 17" wheels on the GSX, compared to the 16" on the GST, but this kit doesn't have either of the stock rims. Underneath the car is another story. The GST exhaust has many bends, some nearly 90°, while the GSX has a more or less straight exhaust. (when I say exhaust, I mean from the turbo back btw). Also, the GSX has a driveshaft that goes to the back wheels, while the GST doesn't. The model's underside represents the GSX. (even though Revell only put a decal for GS-T) Feint Motion 06-14-2005, 06:55 PM I guess it resembles the GSX and Gt-s in many ways, I never notice it till you guys started talking about it. Reason I said Gt-s is because thats what it said on the box. Once again Revell screws up some how. Other than that, thanks for the reply. Cleared some things up for me. bhop73 06-14-2005, 07:04 PM Reason I said Gt-s is because thats what it said on the box. Once again Revell screws up some how. That's odd.. my box doesn't say what type it is at all, other than '99 Mitsubishi Eclipse, although it mentions the all-wheel-drive chassis on the side of the box. Maybe you have a newer printing? Oh well.. heh. Another FYI and a little history lesson. I think you're still confusing GT-S and GS-T. There are 4 generations of Eclipse. The 1st and 2nd gen were RS, GS, GS-T (FWD Turbo), and GSX (AWD Turbo) 3rd gen had RS, GS, GT, and GT-S. The GT and GTS both having the same V6 engine and all were FWD. 4th gen just came out last month, so i'm not too sure about it.. The Gt-s wasnt exactly on the box. It was on the decal sheet. I will get a photo of that soon. EDIT: I just looked at the Decal sheet. It says "GS-T". Surry for my ignorance, Im not used to Mitu :grinno: modder 06-14-2005, 07:14 PM great start there.............after i finish my teg im going to get that.......hehe...... INsejn 06-14-2005, 07:18 PM It doesn`t matter if it is GSX or GST. The best thing is that`s not GS or RS :D bhop73 06-14-2005, 07:19 PM It doesn`t matter if it is GSX or GST. The best thing is that`s not GS or RS :D No arguments from me.. heh :P LS1Aaron 06-14-2005, 07:33 PM You could get a 95 to 98 gst or gsx that looked exactly the same.Just FYI ,used to own one. bhop73 06-15-2005, 02:38 AM You could get a 95 to 98 gst or gsx that looked exactly the same.Just FYI ,used to own one. Actually.. the 95-96 have different bumpers, side skirts, and wheels than the 97-99. I own a '95 GS-T (seen in my sig). The 97-99's are considered to be more aggressive looking due to the bumpers and hi-rise wing, while the 95-96 are more rounded around the edges and only came with the lower 3 piece wing. Wheelin75r 06-15-2005, 04:10 AM I always enjoy watching your threads. Just like this one. Only one pic and it even looks promising already!! :naughty: visible33 06-15-2005, 12:17 PM I love that front bumper and costum intercooler, but in what scale is this model, in 1/24, 1/18 or bigger ? CFed the lip, and CF the Spark plug on the vale cover. Im very surry for the small updates, Ive been busy building my new pocket rocket (1/10th 30 MPH RC car) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v669/FeintMotion/HPIM1728.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v669/FeintMotion/HPIM1727.jpg DementedKindness 06-20-2005, 06:44 PM Sick as always Josh , also if u ever get on aim i could use some more advice on my models ( how you build certain stuff how to paint better ext). Same! bhop73 06-22-2005, 03:44 PM Do you guys ever check the "AF Car Modeling Tutorial and How-To Depository" on the main modeling page? There are a couple tutorials in there.. Feint Motion 06-23-2005, 06:02 PM Thanks for the comments guys. If you wana learn how to make an intercooler just look at the How To sticky on the model forum. Like B-hop said.. Heres some updates, the engine is almost complete. Im very happy with the outcome. Hopfully I will get more detailed when it comes to motors. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v669/FeintMotion/HPIM1741.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v669/FeintMotion/HPIM1740.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v669/FeintMotion/HPIM1739.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v669/FeintMotion/HPIM1733.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v669/FeintMotion/HPIM1732.jpg I cant really get a good theme for the interior. The Eclipse I'm building is so similiar its not funny. Same bodykit, Same ideas, similiar color, CF Front lip, intercooler but I redid the turbo piping to match the IC even added a BOV.. Its uncanny...lol. I don't know if you chose an interior combo, but don't use tan and black stock looking with black and blue racing seats. Thats all mine..lol. Nice car so far. emperorsupra 06-25-2005, 12:28 PM how about a dark blue an white interior AzN 2NR 06-25-2005, 01:04 PM you could do a black with carbon insert, its just an idea tonioseven 06-25-2005, 01:15 PM Maybe try to put in 2 Sparco's or Recaro's, with a black and blue scheme http://img226.echo.cx/img226/7413/speeddinbvinylblack4fg.jpg http://img226.echo.cx/img226/5512/sportklesdinb7it.jpg Just keep it respectable, you're already doing a good job I agree!! :grinyes: :smokin: Feint Motion 06-25-2005, 09:02 PM Thanks for the interior help guys, Im going with the Black and Royal Blue theme. I still debating to but graphics on it. Thanks for the comments. ImolaEK 06-25-2005, 09:46 PM I added a GT style Mines wing. IMO that wing doesnt fit well with the rest of the car. But its ur Eclipse and it will look sweet any way bhop73 06-26-2005, 04:40 PM I think if you're going to put the lip on the wheel, you should do it to the front too, since it's not a Rear Wheel Drive car. Eclipses have a 50/50 distribution to the front and back. I'd think that so much more grip on the back than the front might make a real car handle weird. Of course, it's a model not a real car, so if you really want to do it, go for it. Koenigferrari 06-26-2005, 06:08 PM The stance on the car is great! I think it will good with or without the wing.
