I'm planning to turbocharge a LS, but that won't come for a while so I just plan to get some parts for it while it's N/A. I'm planning to get a GSR tranny and I want to hit mid 14s for the time being while I wait for turbo. How much whp will it take to achieve this?

Not sure what you'll need to ge where you want to be, but I can tell you the best camshafts you can get for your motor are Crower. 62403 is the part number.

So that's the price per pair, but how many do you need in ALL?

I read in a magazine a teggy was running 12's (high) with just like i/h/e and stage 3 cams and better valve train, so yeah, i would say that they do quite a bit. and as far as how much hp you need to get to 14's:

I think this site can give you an idea, not quite sure how accurate it is. Hope it helps

What's the difference between stage 1, 2, and 3 cams? They are all the same price so which one would be best?

That site is not very accurate. I tried putting in my GSR's weigh as 2660 and as 2800 (me in car), and the times were low 16's... with 170 hp.. I'm guessing it doesn't take into effect where that 170 hp is, or gearing.

yea of course it's not accurate it doesn't have the torque numbers or the gearing and also driver matters too.

O and would this be a decent setup for N/A for a while: i/h/e and crower stage 1 cams? would that get me atleast into low 15s?

i image you would be able to dip into the 15's

you guys need to SEARCH! some of these questions are dumb and unnecessary. 12's with I/H/E and cams is retarded. please search just a little bit.

Yea I do search, but there's not too many LS that are going all motor. I don't plan on having it N/A for the rest of the cars life so I'm just asking what's some good upgrades that will get me some decent hp besides the i/h/e combo.

iVteC, it was a GSR, i found it to be very impressive. THe article is in an Import tuner i belive, the one featuring the Carbon Creations RX-7 if anyone knows what month/year that is its in there.

Please, dear God tell me your not installing any of this your self. You will only need one set/pair.
What's the difference between stage 1,2, and 3 cams?
Stage 1 will give you mild upgrade. You want stage 2. Stage 3 might be too aggressive for you. Stage 3 will give you a bad idle, but great quarter times. You have to decide what's more important, racing or driving.
