boost a H23 or swap or a jdm h22hondaEX77 06-11-2005, 03:30 PM hey, im trying to figure out what im gonna do with my car. its an SI so its got an H23. and i was thinkin it cost a little more to boost than to do an engine swap. but what do you guys think would be better, this car will be a everyday driver. either boost the H23. or get a JDM H22. keeping in mind this car has to be reliable so i can drive it everday thanks iVteC_PoWeR 06-11-2005, 07:41 PM A turbo would obviously make your car go a lot faster than a motor swap, but the turbocharged motor won't last as long. It can still be reliable, but like I said a N/A motor would last longer than a turbocharged one in a Honda. Instead of JDM H22 why not just get a USDM one because there isn't much of a hp difference unless your thinking about the Type S swap. hondaEX77 06-11-2005, 08:53 PM what would be the difference between a Type S and a JDM. ludeguy 06-11-2005, 09:04 PM what would be the difference between a Type S and a JDM. believe it is 220 (type S) vs 200hp (reg jdm). not sure on tq numbers. yea unless you plan on building your bottom end etc, i'd go for the jdm swap - it's a cheap way to gain 40hp, and you can even use your h23 trans making it cheaper. I swapped a jdm h22a into my 4ws lude, and love it - i'm thinking of boosting next spring, once i'm all researched up - i'll prob buy a second h22 for the build up tho. all the best. 94PreludeJDM 06-12-2005, 11:26 AM This topic has been covered numerous times, but it really depends on your budget. The H23 is better for boost, and as long as you do it right and tune it, it will be very reliable. It all depends on your goals and your wallet. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
