Carbon hood

My question is that how do you make carbon hood.
I mean do you apply clear coat and polish or only semi-gloss or only carbon decal.

Usually I apply 2-3 coat of clear and polish it. so it has the same shine as the body. But I do not know that how it is in real life. I mean the carbon itself is not so shiney.

I agree, only racing machines have bare CF on some parts. All "for looks only CF mods" are mostly very shiny (ok not only for looks, but that is how it looks to me :D).

Whether on street or motorsports cars, carbon fiber is always embeded in a clear polyester or similar resin. It's not for looks, but for stength- this is how CF is made to take and hold a shape. Because of this resin, any CF component will nearly always have a high gloss appearence.
