Hello.
In February of 2002 I bought a 93 Grand Cherokee Limited. So I have decided to sell it and get me either a 2004 or 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited. But I'm stuck on the decision of either the 04 or 05. On the 04 The warranty is for 8 years or 80K miles. For the 05 the warranty is for 5 years or 80K miles. Both of them are V8's. 04 has 7,192 miles and its $21,999. The 05 is new of course and its $25,699. what would you do ? any comments would be helpful.

Thanks.

I would go with the 04. As with all newly released models they are going to have their fair share of problems so i would avoid the 05 model. The 04 is the sixth model year with the same design. Therefore they have most of the "bugs" worked out of them. As far as price goes, i'm not sure.

cbftbl87 is correct, however the new JGC is a whole different Jeep, it really is, even tho I think it looks a little to "tame" and the body molding is stupid close to the ground, it has Star Trek type stuff about it, like it will apply the breaks for you so you dont spin on a curve, auto sway bar disconnects, and the hemi is the only one that has a 4low (man that sucks) I do not know if you can order a Larado with a 4 low but the dealer I talked to said only the Hemis get it.

To me it was like bing inside a car, it didnt feel like a "Jeep" or a utility kinda 4x4 at all, it's falling into the Ford Exploer/ Liberty kinda ride, and I don't like it. I think a parking curb would damage that Jeep.

It's up to you man, it's what you want to do with it, I think the new one is just good for some mild snow and high insurance.

good luckm tell us what you end up getting

The New Jeep is here. I got a new 05 Grand Cherokee Laredo for $23K. So far I driven it for a week and its great. I got the 3.7L engine and its real good with gas. I'm getting about 20MPG in mix driving highway and city. I live in Southern California and so far I have only seen 4 of the new Grand Cherokee's out in the street. And I dont know why people keep on asking me if my suv is in " IMPORT " , they probably dont see the chrome Jeep emblem in the front and back.

I would go with the 04 unless of course the 05 model your speaking of has the HEMI.

Seriously, I think the WK models look retarded, they are too big and they don't have the look of a JEEP. same with the WJ altho they still looked like a JEEP just not as rugged as the ZJ's of course but they still look good, I can't say that for the WK's......

He allready got his Andrew "WK". However I think its just a single speed Tcase with only 4hi.

I think the WK is kinda "import" looking, however the ones well equiped for off roading are "well equiped" they have auto disconnect sway bars!
