Well... That about sums up what weve been told for a while now.
Although it will be diff. from both the Z and the G, it will still be based off of the same platform, yes?

The only reason I ask this is because if they are based off of the same platform do any of you guys see drivetrain swaps between the GTR and the 350Z/G35, more so with the G. I mean because of the estimated price range of this car many of the individuals who have followed the car and want to purchase it, will not be financially able to- myself included, at least currently. I mean in my opinion,an AWD G35 would be more than satisfying for me and although the GTR will be so much more, this would seem like a decent alternative. Of course the price of the swap, if it will even be possible/practical might dictate otherwise. What do you guys think?

Well not with the 350z but with the G35 I believe it can be done.

Also the motor they are saying wil be the VQ35DE(TT), like the one in the G35, or a VQ32DE(TT). It will be a 3.5 loitre or a 3.2 litre V6... It will either be a 350Z motor or a G35 motor but GTRified...

can't they make it around the $30-35,000 area so it'll be more affordable? i mean awd is good, but $60k? dammmm.....it better be light as hell for that kinda price tag, and doing like 10s stock or something....

No. The G35 Coupe already costs that much.

What is the 3.2 liter V6? Is that the engine used for JGTC or something? It is not currently in production; is it? I have just seen that number quite a few times and curious about that engine.

The 3.2L V6 would just be a different version of the VQ-series engine that made its US debut in 1995.

The VQ32 is not in production yet. However, it would not be too difficult to build your own using factory parts. Here's how:

A VQ35 block is bored .2L greater than a VQ30. The rest of the increase comes from added stroke. So, replace the VQ35 crank and rods with those from the VQ30, and you have a VQ32 engine. The VQ was always an oversquare(bore > stroke) design, and a VQ32 would be especially so. It should love to rev.

The VQ used in the JGTC(now known as Super GT) is a twin turbo 3L. The VQ30DETT first saw action in the R34 Skyline during the 2003 season. The R34s using the VQ not only won the driver's championship but also the manufacturer's title. A nice swan song, since it was the last year for the R34 Skyline to be used. Now the VQ is used in the Z33 Fairlady Z, a chassis that has put the VQ to even better use.

The GT-R should use an updated form of the FM platform(its already much stiffer than the older GT-Rs), so it should really scream.

So it's the high revs that make it more useful than the VQ35. Sorry for all the questions; I am trying to learn the automotive thing basically online and what I can see on my car.

Yeah, the VQ32 should rev more quickly. I don't know about higher, but I don't see why not. There's a new variant of the VQ35 that can rev up to 7000rpm now(350Z 35th anniversary w/ 300hp).

The older VQ30s were able to use an aftermarket upgrade that let them go up to 7200rpm.

I imagine the increased stroke(.3L over the VQ30) of the VQ35 hurt its revving ability somewhat.
