Back Panel RemovalDjEarth 06-09-2005, 01:50 AM How do I remove the panels in the back of my 2 Door 99 Blazer LS? I think my back passanger side speaker may be loose and want to tighten it up. Im sure it is what is causing the bad rattling noise I am getting from the panels. Also, does anyone have any other panel noise making fixes they would like to share? Sen Sen 06-09-2005, 05:14 PM I had to rattle proof my truck a while back! I removed almost all the panels and added wheather strips under each pannel. It worked perfectly! DjEarth 06-09-2005, 08:11 PM That's great. So how did you remove the back panels? And what kind of stripping did you use? Sen Sen 06-09-2005, 09:31 PM Unfortunately I haven't seen the inside of a 99LS, But I'm sure someone in this forum could answer that for you. I know with mine, a few of the panels covered screws holding others panels up. I used something similar to this stuff. http://jacksautoparts.com/catalog/weatherstrip/trunk.jpg You can get it at any hardware store, cheap! It works really well! DjEarth 06-20-2005, 11:39 PM Just thought I would update and let anyone that cares know how I fixed the noise coming from the panels. Removed the panels and then where the panels clip, took 3M double sided tape and ran it on the edge, used a knife to cut a slot for the clips to slide into as well. Put the panel back together and no more noise. The inside of the cab has never been this quiet since I bought my Blazer. Very impressed! muzzy1maniac 06-21-2005, 04:43 AM What did you use to pop the clips off on the panel? This is one of my projects too! DjEarth 06-21-2005, 11:56 PM A soft cloth over a flat head screwdriver..just pushed in a bit and popped it up. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
