2003 4 Runner with a left brake light not working. There is a small access panel that I removed and then disconnected the plug from the light but I cannot figure out how to pull the bulb. I tried to twist and then just pull on it but nothing. I'm hesitant to use a lot of force for fear of breaking something. Anyone know how to do this?

TIA Steve

well, the bulb probably isnt greased, so thats why its so hard to get out. i suggest that you just pull as hard as you can or wiggle to see if it will move. also, try a tiny screwdriver to pry it off with, whats the worst that can happen? its already blown right. and when u put the new bulb in, put light bulb grease so this wont happen a second time.

I should have said the plastic piece that holds the bulb instead of the bulb. I'm going to try it again and just pull harder. Maybe use a pr. needle nose to get a grip on it.

Thanks

try pushing in then turning anti-clockwise and then pull.
