i have a 98 s-10 and the lower parts of the bed, and part of the cab have some surface rust in a few unnoticable places. i went to get an estimate to repair this casue i wana take care of it before it becomes something worse and they said it would be about 1200$. i went to a few places and they all gave me about this price. should i have it done professionally or do it myself?
any advice will be greatly appreciated

POR15 is a rust inhibitor/converter that should be used when repairing any rust. Stuff dries hard as steel. Chip guard is for paint, a completely seperate process.

por15 is the best thing that I've ever seen for rust.
Right now my Blazer is 1/2 painted in Por15 Black waiting intil my boss catches up on my pay.
Hopefully I can afford a paint job then.
I also painted my new Fenders, and hood with Por-15 black coat on the underhood side before I put them on
I could e-mail you pics of what it looks like painted in it if you want.
The U.V. rays have faded it over the last month, but they say it's just as tough.
