Is there a way.....?

Is there a way to improve the handling characteristics of a 2004 Camry LE (4 cylinder) 4dr sedan in the wind?

This car is literally all over the road in a crosswind and it's been that way from the day I bought it new. The dealer says it's "normal".

I don't think it's "normal" to have to constantly fight to keep it going in a straight line in a 20 mph breeze. And when a semi passes me, LOOK OUT.

Would wider wheels/tires help? How about stiffer swaybars (if such is even available)? How about replacing the springs in order to lower the car a couple inches to lower the overall center of gravity?

Any reasonable ideas would be appreciated.

Stiffer Swaybars, shocks and lower/stiffer springs, shock tower brace would all help.

BTW, it is normal for a Camry to be moved by wind. They are relatively tall cars and softly sprung with soft shocks.

Thanks Brian. Shock tower brace, though....just what is that?

Also, are there any outlets that you could (or wouldn't mind) recommending where some of these items could be gotten?

'Perciate it, and thanks again.

Sorry, I don't have any particular place to buy suspension components. Look for the best price on Koni, Bilstein, etc. shocks/struts. Springs are springs. Get some with higher spring rates.

Also, maybe consider installing a front and/or rear spoiler for better aerodynamics. Usually, just a one inch lip for a rear spoiler is about all you really need for improved stability at highway speeds. Search the web and see what you come up with and if you see any such spoilers for an '03 Camry, please let me know. :smokin:
