b16a2 questionborn khatarnak 06-07-2005, 09:58 PM hello i am confused.. does the b16a2 come from a civic si??? if it does then isnt the civic si a turbocharged honda??? if it is then does the b16a2 have a turbo??? im sure i probably sound stupid... oh well rather be stupid online than be stupid in person. V T E C H 06-07-2005, 10:17 PM No honda has a stock turbo. born khatarnak 06-07-2005, 11:08 PM thanks Red B16A 06-13-2005, 10:22 PM Also the B16A2 isn't a civic si thats a B16A3 diegoaccord 06-14-2005, 07:34 AM B16A2 is: 1992-1995 Civic VTi- EDM, OBD1 1999-2000 Civic Si- USDM, OBD2 Those are the only engines that ACTUALLY have a STAMP on the block that reads "B16A2" The B16A3 is the 93-97 delSol VTEC motor. And there ARE turbo Honda's. No good ones, but they exist. City Turbo. E series motor E07A, 0.7 SOHC turbo, 68 PS, IIRC Then you have the late model 98+ Honda Z, which has a E07Z, and comes in a turbo variant. Again, no GOOD Honda's were turbo, but there were/are some. aharte 06-14-2005, 12:50 PM is the b16a2 160bhp or 170bhp?i have an edm vti diegoaccord 06-14-2005, 02:07 PM It's 160 HP. The EE8/EE9 1.6i-VT has the same B16A as an automatic equipped EF9 SiR/SiRII, which is 150 HP. This the real B16A1. It's the same with the EDM EG6/EG9, that B16A2 is the same as an auto equipped JDM EG6/EG9 motor, which is also spec'd the same as the JDM OBD0 5 speed motor, at 160 HP. The B16A2 from the USDM EM1 Si is the same as the Euro ODB1, and USDM B16A3, and OBD0 JDM 5 speed motor. I know it's a little much info, but "Hondignorance" spreads like wild fire. So much for those "JDM" B16A2's, eh? aharte 06-14-2005, 02:58 PM so which ones have 170bhp CivicSpoon 06-14-2005, 03:13 PM JDM Civic SiR2, the B16a4, and the JDM Integra XSi (there might be a few more, but none that I know of off the top of my head). diegoaccord 06-14-2005, 03:55 PM Remember, Civic SiR II is a trim level, not a generation There are EF9 SiR II. That means power widows, alloys, map lights, coin pockets and a bunch of other unnessary things. And as far as Integra XSi, it's only the 92-93 version with 170 HP, with the OBD1 PR3-J01 ECU. The 90-91 is 160 HP. It's also noted that there are no EK4 SiR II... CivicSpoon 06-14-2005, 04:39 PM The EF9 is the SiR, no 2 (or II) after it. The SiR II was from '92-'00 (as well as the SiR). You're right about the Xsi, I wasn't thinking when I wrote that. diegoaccord 06-14-2005, 05:17 PM SiR and SiR II are trim levels, in all generations. I know this, because Honda has the Honda Open Terrace on their JP site. Anything you wanted to know about any JDM car was there. Even things you didn't want to know. First B18A? 86 Accord EXL-S/GXL-S...carbed, 130 HP E series? EO7A variants, and EO7Z... .7 liter 3 cylinders, 8500 redline with NA/and TURBO variations... JDM 1G Legend had a 2.0 V6 as the base model engine... that's a small ass V6. 94-01 Integra avaliable with a SOHC carbed ZC motor? They ALL had the "Type R" front end after 98? Orthia? A Civic wagon with a B18B? Like I said, anything you wanted they had. What motor is what what trim, the HP @ RPM, options, tire size, colors avail. According to their model list: E-EF9 SiR has 15 inch steelies, manual windows, basically a "DX" of sorts E-EF9 SiR II has the alloys, power options, ect. Only option for E-EF8 CR-X SiR is glass roof, no SiR/SiR II, as we all know. And in EK years, there are no option variants. People simply call it the SiR II because it doesn't sound right to call the later model the SiR again. It's retarded, but it's the same principle on everyone calling all EF motors "B16A1" and ALL EG motors "B16A2". Not trying to come off as an ass, but I got most of my stuff from the actual honda.co.jp site, not what some random guy says (Though I am a random guy) I choose to get it from Honda, and apparently Honda Japan doesn't care about divulging that kind of info to us, so I'm better for it. Honda still has the Honda Open Terrace, but in trying to find you the EF SiR II page, I discovered that the model info isn't there anymore, or it's a new link I've never spoken out of my ass. diegoaccord 06-14-2005, 05:33 PM Found it. The layout is a little different. http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/ModelData/civic/8ch-ka-709/index.html I just got done installing a new XPSP2, due to a virus, sorry my Japanese lang pack is missing, but you clearly see SIR II. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v134/diegoaccord/HONDA.jpg CivicSpoon 06-14-2005, 05:49 PM I should have known better. I was looking for that too earlier and couldn't find it. I should have figured it was very possible, since there are so many other models and things like 4wd (maybe awd) models that no one talks about. I appoligise, I shouldn't have doubted. diegoaccord 06-14-2005, 06:13 PM Yo, no need to opologize, it's not that big of a deal, I just want to make sure everyone knows the truth. I get tired of people and all this B16A1/A2/A3 shit, man. I been here for a long time and answered the SAME questions over and over, so now, I make it a point to prove a case, and inadvertantly, that has gotten me known as pretty accurate. Anyways, check that Honda site out...it's a good start. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=106740 ^^^ I made this 2 years ago, questions about numerous JDM and USDM vehicles, and that was before I found Honda Open Terrace. You see the smart assedness in that thread? They were some of the same idiotas probably asking the same shit I'm answering 2 years later. Peace. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
