I was given a 1991 Buick PA which had been idle for @ 5 months after a cold winter in NYC. I have to keep putting in power steering fluid every few days after I drive it. There is a leak somewhere in the power steering unit. Is there anyone out there who can help me find out where this leak is and how to go about fixing it without it costing me an arm and a leg?

If it's gobbeling up a lot of fluid but you don't see any externally leaking, my guess would be the rack bushings dry rotted and the fluid is in the dost covers (rubber boots on the steering arms).

Better be sure and get it resolved, power sterring fluid is some pretty flamable stuff when exposed to the exhaust manifold that runs right on top of most the system.
