My check engine light keeps coming on but no codes are showing up, but when you move the connection/PCM the car starts to act up (idle goes to about 1100rpm and surges/stalls)
I think it might be the main computer(PCM) or the wiring(hoping the wiring $$ and not the PCM)

Any Ideas?

I woudl deffinately say a wiring problem, check to make sure the connector is bolted on all the way, there a 8mm (maybe 7mm) bolt in the middle of the connector check to see if it is tight, if it is, remove it and pull the connector off and check all the wires going into the connector.

I don't know if you used a scan tool or the on-board way, but the on board way is

Make sure you start the Jeep if you can, shift the trans in all gears
turn the AC on then off.

Turn the Jeep on off, on off, on off, on within 5 seconds

The codes are transmitted as 2 digit flashes, like this code 21 will be "Flash Flash pause Flash

write down the codes as they come up, they only repeat if you do this
again.

I'm not going to list the codes here because thats just nuts, but if you tell me what you get I will reply with the code problem.

I also poasted this to anyone who has a 1991-1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it may work on others but I dont know.
