Codes AgainDudethejudge 06-05-2005, 12:52 AM Hi Guys, I had my Check Engine Light on two weeks ago when I was driving on the high way (codes 12 battery disconnect and 65 Power steering switch failure). I didn't notice anything wrong with my power steering. When I got home I noticed that the battery cover was pushing on the battery cables (battery slightly bigger than what it is suposed to be so it is pushing the cover). I disconnected the battery cables and reconnected them and the Check engine light didn't go off. A week later the light went off one morning untill last night, same senario driving on the high way. I really appreciate any help. das2123 06-06-2005, 10:50 AM Did you get a code 55, end of codes? If not, maybe you read the codes wrong. Anyway if you did read them correctly, you may have a wiring/connection issue. Check the power steering switch and make sure it is clean, free of debris, and seated correctly. Dudethejudge 06-06-2005, 12:35 PM Thanks for your reply, Actually I did get 55. I will try to locate the switch and look for any problems with it or the wiring. L8r das2123 06-06-2005, 01:28 PM On my 99 it is located on the back side of the power steering gear. You will need a 7/8" deep well socket (to prevent damage) to remove and install it. When installing, install by hand first and then torque it to 70 in/lbs. Oh before you do anything, disconnect the negative terminal first. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
