Buick LeSabre

I am getting my dad's 2000 Buick Lesabre, and I didn't think it was worth working on until I saw that alot of people are putting performance parts into their Buick Regals. Is there anything that I can do to a LeSabre to make it as quick as some of these Regals? If so, what? I know the first step would probably be an K&N drop in filter, but what else? I don't want to spend too much time and money and have the car still be running like my grandma's (and no, she doesn't have a fast car ;)), so is it even worth it? TIA

Sorry, I meant to put this in Non-Specific... could a Mod move it?

I'm not a car expert, but i'll give ya my take. I'm assuming the LeSabre has the 3.8L Series II engnge in it. My parents have a 98 Lesabre and I have a 99 Grand Prix GT, n they have the same engine. As far as mods, there are a TON of mods available out there for the 3.8. You can really get the horsepower and torque up there. The thing is tho, that the LeSabre is very heavy. You could get it to have some zip, but if you really want a car with some speed, id save your money n get a Regal GS if you wanna stay w/ a buick, or a Grand Prix GTP, if you have the same taste in styling as me. The GP GT is nice too, enough power for me at least.

P.S. I've heard of people modding Bonnevilles pretty good, n those are pretty much Pontiac's equivalent of the LeSabre.

The supercharged series II engines have mods-o-plenty for em...I know a few guys with their regal GS's that went into the 13's with just a pulley swap.

the lesabre doesn't have a supercharger like the regal GS

I would stick with the Le Sabre. Aren't they rwd? Just that factor would seal the deal for me. Maybe there are some V6 Camaro mods you can find.

No, the LeSabre is FWD. However, even tho it is FWD and like was said before, its not supercharged, there are still PLENTY of mods for the N/A 3800 engine. If you do weight reduction like crazy, maybe you could make it the ultimate sleeper:grinyes:.

If the LeSabre was RWD, i woulda taken one over my GP GT, i'd rather have a sleeper. I don't think Buick makes any RWD cars... someone correct me if I'm wrong...

lol, ok, i knew about that:p. But they dont make the GN anymore, so as far as i know Buick is not currently making a RWD car. I'm sure we all wish they were still makin the GN tho.

you can get a Ranier with RWD, not really a car though. I believe they're supposed to be getting a RWD Small Luxury sedan based on the Sigma Lite platform, basically a stripped down CTS.

I hadn't heard of that as a concept car until you mentioned it but DANG thats a nice car. Hell, I'd never have the money to get one, but I'd love to see them out on the road.
