cold air intake for my 93 dxsuspower 05-25-2005, 07:52 PM Well my car has a little over 220,000km on it and so far i changed everything that needs to be changed to keep it functional...air filter, fule filter, plugs, plug wires, dist cap and the pcv valve. Now i want to add a little more HP and am thinking of a cold air intake. I don't want something pricey because my car is old and there is no point in putting a 500$ intake on it so i was looking at a cold air intake from APC that will cost me 135$ CDN. The model number is 171000K and i was wondering if this is a good choice for my car since this model is readily available for me to get.....anyone have any disappointment with this one ? and u guys think it will make a noticeable difference ?? CivRacer95 05-25-2005, 08:28 PM Just save up your money seeing that you have some high mileage. Then do a motor swap into that car. Although, if you want some performance now, then go Intake, header, exhaust. Won't give you much with your DX motor, but it'll get you by. suspower 05-25-2005, 08:31 PM Just save up your money seeing that you have some high mileage. Then do a motor swap into that car. Tell you what. Look through these two sites. You can find yourself a complete swap package for a really good price. You'd be surprised at how much it costs. www.hmotorsonline.com (http://www.hmotorsonline.com) and www.passwordJDM.com (http://www.passwordJDM.com) The two swaps I would recommend are the B18C1 or the B16A motors. They bolt directly into your Civic's engine bay. Although, it may cost you a bit more for the installation process, unless you know how to do it yourself or have a really good friend to help you out. In the end, the motor swap will be worth it and the motors you can purchase from these sites generally have about 30-35K miles on them to begin with. No breaking in period, just go as you please. suspower 05-26-2005, 01:15 AM Tell you what. Look through these two sites. You can find yourself a complete swap package for a really good price. You know how much i would love to do that ? i really wish that i could , but in my current situation right now i could not afford that. I will in the near future but for now i am just sort of stuck with what i have and just want to add some small accessories to it because they don't cost much. This car is done.. and the frame is rotted but the outside body looks fine. so for now i just want some good information on a proper muffler/cat to add some power but at a cheap cost because as i said the car wont last me 3 more yrs. That is why i am getting a generic cold air, cause its just as good but just wont last as long as the more expensive ones. Theres no use in getting one that will long outlast my car ..lol I am planning on getting a new car after this one..possibly the new Golf gti and throw on a crazy cat and muffler, a good cold intake and and a blow off valve for the turbo :) snowman2005 05-29-2005, 06:52 PM buy some ebay parts. like u said it aint worth spending alot of money on an engine with that high mileage vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
