"As we were practically assured more than a year ago (AW, Feb. 16, 2004), Audi confirmed plans to build a flagship sports car starting in 2007 based on the Le Mans quattro concept that took the AutoWeek Editors’ Best Concept award at the 2003 Frankfurt show.

Reportedly dubbed R9, the production car will be based on the Lamborghini Gallardo—mid-engine, all-wheel drive—and will be powered by either a detuned version of the Gallardo’s 5.0-liter 500-hp V10 or the Audi RS4’s 4.2-liter 420-hp V8."

R9? Makes sense. This car will be so sick, in fact, that it would need some Advil... OK, mabey that was a bad joke, but thats a going to be a great car.
