Switching wheel size from 17" to 16"

Anyone done this?

Anyone know if there would be any practicle difference?

Should be able to do that, however you may find the 215-70r16 (think thats the standard size tire for Teks with 16 inch wheels) has a rather limited selection for available tires. Not many vehicles have that size

that way the width is the same and there are many more available than the 235-55r17's that it came with.

Some other thoughts on switching: Assuming you would keep same outside diameter for 16 inch tire (keeping speedo happy and not messing with shift points) the 16 inch would have a little larger air cushion, perhaps a little better ride and slightly less chance of wheel damage if you happen to hit a pothile the size of texas. One downside (depending on stiffness of sidewall) may be a little less cornering handling.
