ok, my friend is kind of spoiled and he donesn't know dick about cars

and his is having a problem so i'm trying to figure it out and want some of your opinions on it

first I want to state that i believe it is his fuel pump going out as do two of my friends here

symptom: the car will sometimes shutter when you give it gas, under load it will shake/and sometimes you will feel a rocking motion front to back, and has turned off more that once after giving gas as soon as its been started [the motor was still warm, leaving a parking space, reverse/ then gas/then off], i only experienced this once but he said it had happened before

it seems he never has a full tank of gas, i have seen him drive around with the gas light on more than a few times, and whenever he gets gas its like 5bucks here 10 bucks there, never a full tank, also i don't get the feeling is electrical, all electronics still work, no blown fuses, all the wires that i can check seem to be alright

well he's stupid about cars, but is generally cool overall so i let it slide [he doesn't touch my car], his car is a 04 acura, so im thinking its still under warrenty but he won't take to the dealership, so i'm asking around to see if i may be right, so i can tell his parents directly

check the MAF meter, check the timing, he could also have a weak ignition system, bad compression, fuel pumps don't really work half ass... they either work or they don't


it could also be other parts of fuel system, filter.... !!, injectors....

it sounds like he has a pretty shitty maintained car...

also check the ground wires and connections, and see if the battery terminals are all funked up with growth

well if it only does it when the light is on then it means that he is probably running on fumes. this happens with my brohter all the time. hes so lazy he doesnt fill his tank till he really needs gas. the car would shudder like its going to stall out or let the clutch out to fast. thats what i think.
