My Lil' Blue War Pony has had some tranny fluid
leaking out from a solenoid. Has anyone heard of this?
Is it serious?
Thanks,
joihan

There are no externally mounted solenoids on the 4L30E. You most likely have a leak from the accumulator piston cover. Is the ATF leaking from a cylindrical shaped casting on the side of the transmision? That would be the accumulator. Very common, well known, easy to fix issue for the 4L30E. Be sure to not drive your rodeo if it is low on ATF as this will destroy the transmission. Get it to the dealer & have them fix it.

Howdy Everybody,
I read the other topic threads here and it sounded
like it was the accumulator piston cover. The fluid
was fresh and all over the bottom so it was hard to
eyeball the source. I went to Great Valley Isuzu in
Sacramento and inside of five minutes they agreed
it was the accumulator piston cover. I arrived at
11am, by 3pm I had my Lil Blue War Pony back and
leak free! Oh the joy! And just in time to go topless
in sunny California! It was a warranty item and they
didn't give me any static at all....actually they were
really cool.
Hope this helps others,
