Corvette Servo InstalledBlenderWizard 05-21-2005, 04:37 PM I got my corvette servo installed today. It was easy, and only took about 25 to 30 minutes to do. My tranny has a heat shield that covers most of the servo side of the tranny because one of my cats is right there. The only bad part of installing the servo was this:http://tinypic.com/5b1vm1 Yeah, the cat got me. Being as impatient as I am, I didn't give it enough time to cool off properly airtight_python 05-21-2005, 04:44 PM Damn, that cat bit you hard! Let us know how you like the results of the servo. BlenderWizard 05-21-2005, 04:52 PM Well, so far it seems pretty good. I drove home from my dad's oon the interstate, and the firmer shifts are most noticeable at high speeds. Definitely worth the $18 i spent on the servo. beer-b-q 05-22-2005, 04:47 PM what is this servo and what does it do? BlenderWizard 05-22-2005, 05:55 PM Basically, if I am not mistaken, it gives firmer shifts in gears 1 and 2. It does seem to be an improvement, especially at highway speeds. check out some more info here, beer: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=405647 The part is cheap, and it didn't take very long to do, and I had NO idea what I was doing beforehand. rsatter22 06-10-2005, 12:26 PM Basically, if I am not mistaken, it gives firmer shifts in gears 1 and 2. Question: I see one of the Ebay sellers also has a longer servo pin included in the kit. Does it help? It's another $15 so not that much but if it doesn't do any good I'd rather not spend it. jethro_3 06-10-2005, 12:58 PM Talked with a couple of transmission shops and they said as if you push the outer cap on the servo in and it does not go in farther than 3/8" it is not worth your time and effort. I found my cap to be 1/4" at most. When you do the second servo you will have almost everything of the pin anyways. Good luck BlenderWizard 06-10-2005, 07:33 PM Talked with a couple of transmission shops and they said as if you push the outer cap on the servo in and it does not go in farther than 3/8" it is not worth your time and effort. Good luck Wait, now what happened? jethro_3 06-10-2005, 08:24 PM Nothing is wrong, it should have said "..Off the pin.." instead of "..of the pin.." I did not replace the pin as the tolerance was close enough for me and the transmission shops. BlenderWizard 06-10-2005, 08:31 PM I hate to sound totally stupid, but I'm not following you jethro_3 06-10-2005, 08:40 PM You know the pin that everything was attached to? They make some longer and shorter to ensure the servo's are in the correct place to get max efficiency and timing. BlenderWizard 06-10-2005, 09:34 PM oh. My cap seemed to collapse quite a bit when I installed it, but I never measured it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
