99 Electrical problem locks, seat, lightsSlimJimRD 05-21-2005, 03:54 PM 99 windstar with 88,000 miles. Power locks do not work other than driver door, button on passenger will unlock driver door. Power seat does not work. Light out indicator is on. Right rear turn signal not working and indicator light inside blinks fast, bulb okay. Left brake and parking lights not working, bulbs okay. Front turn lights okay. Left turn indicator blink normally. Have check fuses (okay) and cleaned all ground connections I could find but do not have a wiring diagram. Any ideas??? 12Ounce 05-21-2005, 06:29 PM Try fuse #13 in fuse box near driver's left foot. After that try "switched system power relay" #4 in same location. (Refer to owner's glovebox manual). SlimJimRD 05-21-2005, 06:51 PM I replace fuse 13 and switched out relay 4 with both relays 1 and 2. This did not help. I do not have 12 volts at fuse 13 which I think I should have. Also removed the fuse box and checked the orange/red wire in back and it does not have 12 volts. Will go out front and start checking those fuse 103 or 104 12Ounce 05-21-2005, 10:16 PM You are on the right track ... fuse #103. SlimJimRD 05-22-2005, 10:05 AM Okay fixed the wiring of fuse 103 and now only have issue of power seat not working. I think it is a short as it worked yesterday after fixing 103 wiring but today after putting the van back together it is not working. Is there any easy way to isolate a short in the wiring? 12Ounce 05-22-2005, 08:58 PM If you are not blowing fuses, I would suspect an "open" instead of a "short". Have you looked under seat to make sure connector is secure? SlimJimRD 05-23-2005, 10:37 AM It is blowing the fuse. 12Ounce 05-23-2005, 11:41 AM fuse 122? ...104? Try disconnecting the load (seat) ... and see if fuse continues to blow. SlimJimRD 05-24-2005, 04:30 PM Disconnected the seat and fuse fine. Unplugged all seat motors and hooked switch back up fuse fine Plug in each motor and found that the front vertical motor will not turn much and doesn't sound good. Did not short out but no one was on the seat. Is this motor worth taking apart to see what is the problem or just replace it. When I bypassed the fuse before the motor worked as I was able to raise it to the highest setting. Did I maybe go past some kind of limit on the seat/motor. Van gone for the rest of today so could not retry bypassing the fuse to see what happens with that motor. 12Ounce 05-24-2005, 04:38 PM Don't know. You're in territory I've never been.
